It seems like having this honor to serve the country would be much less likely to become as corrupt if it was a volunteer position. ?
I like the idea of picking representatives at complete random, rather than any sort of elections, and only for a fixed amount of time. It fixes so many problems at once
1) no need for term limits, no career politicians
2) all laws would have to be understood to some degree by the layman, since you'd have a smattering of laymen making them
3) impossibly hard for bigger groups to rig control of the government, like we see corporatism now, since the actual decisionmakers would be rotating in and out quickly, and at random.
4) Nothing overly complicated would get done, freeing up citizens to go about living, rather than being concerned with the government doing overmuch.
5) THE ELIMINATION OF CAREER POLITICIANS!
YESSS!!
This way it is truly a "Govt OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people"
I'm not sure about choosing participants at complete random but all your other points are great. Thanks.
A simple solution to end special interests!!!
All the points hinge on the complete random picking of the representatives. As soon as you add voting, or consensus, or majorities, you end up open to collusion.
