if we can join the protesters for a couple of hours.. I know it may sound kind of disrespectful to do so like a part of our tourist plan for those people who are camping out in the cold, but I have a kid and I feel it will also do some good for him to witness the historic protest.

  1. Will we be welcomed?
  2. Where should we go in NYC? Zuccotti Park?
  3. Anything to bring?
  4. Any other ideas, suggestions, etc?

Thank you in advance ...

There are lots of us that go down there for a few hours at a time. Make some signs and come on down. Zuccotti Park is on Broadway just north of Wall St.

I've just come back from travelling 700 miles to be there overnight.

I can say that:

Yes, you will be welcomed.

You don't need to bring anything, but if you can bring something, cold weather gear (gloves, hats, etc.) will be accepted & put to good use. Got a good sleeping bag you no longer use? It will prevent hypothermia for someone. Hot drink mixes (instant cocoa, hot cider) will be useful as well.

Other ideas? Ask at the temporary volunteer, or info table if there is something you can do, or contribute. There's always a need.

In all fairness, I would not try to camp there with a kid, but I do think it would be a good thing for him or her to, as you say: "witness the historic protest".

Well OK now the camp at Zuccotti Park is gone - where can we join the protesters? Keep checking this website? I hope my cell phone will cooperate ... wishing you all safe and successful protest and hope to see you next week.

Keep your kid at home.

Hopefully, he does not get TB or sexually assaulted by the protesters.

Get him in for all his vaccinations.
