and i don't think they get the credit, respect and benefits they deserve. Like to hear from some if they're here
I hear people talk a lot about respect.
But, if people truly did, they would be beating down the doors to make sure that our Vets do NOT lose benefits. http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/2011/11/03/segel-veterans-and-military-retirees-always-political-targets/
Veteran's Day really irritates me. Vet's are propped up as political propaganda and people cheer and get a little weepy. Sometimes school put on a little show. The next day, it is business as usual.
Give a damn 24/7 365. [/rant]
I was awarded only 60% of the 100% of GI Bill benefits as a reservist. All I really have left anymore is school. I have been to Iraq twice, been in combat more times than my brain will let me remember, just to come home and see that the VA is stripping down the GI Bill more. One of the purposes behind the GIB, is to put active and former military personnel through college so more jobs can be created and filled. I think I can speak for many combat vets about the credit and respect of their service. Many of us really care about our benefits over the last statement. Now, CONGRESS IS STRIPPING THE GIB EVEN MORE. Veterans are having a hard time as is finding employment, now they are having to face a cruel reality that the same government that sent them abroad to fight is taking one of the most meaningful things away. Their chance to receive an education.
I served 4 years in the Marine Corps... and I think ows is nothing but a bunch of lazy, unwashed, shiftless hippies. my 2cents.
not me, but my son. We came to this country from Mexica and naturalize 19 years ago. I register to vote here. He joined the army and I am very proud he fights for a country that gave us so much. and dont think for one minute I support illegal immigration. It is not hard to become legal, very easy.
Bart: I just think our veterans deserve a little recognition. Lisa: That's what Veterans Day is for, Bart. Bart: But is that really enough to honor our brave soldiers? Lisa: They also have Memorial Day! Bart: Oh, Lisa, maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong, the important thing is that veterans deserve a day to honor them! Lisa: They have two! Bart: Well, maybe they should have three. I'm Bart Simpson.
