The Founding Of Founders
Ladies and Gentlemen, we are ALL aware... that if George Washington were to run for president tomorrow, every American would have his vote; Yes? I propose to you all, a recognition BEYOND the founders, one that is never DISCUSSED, one that is never TAUGHT, one that is never seen. What is this you may ask? Why of course, friend, The Enlightenment.
We often take the Founding Fathers as entities in themselves, whose ideas merely burst forth from their minds. Not the Case. It is often misleading when quoting a founder, I will be my best not to, and simply work with the Concept, we can see a thread between them all, why? Because in the decades during and before, some would say many decades, we see the echos of John Locke as the CENTERPIECE of a new Government. We see David Hume, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Thomas Paine, Jesus Christ, seeing the latter as simply an Ethical Philosopher when used in Government, we see here a thread; one based of the fundamental rights of man, the needed critique of ourselves and the state,
How of course does this read to culture, I present you with my thought, the Founders understood that while a Government in Liberty could never induce a specific 'society' from forming, this would simply be impossible, but what they believe and the culture and education and question and reasoning from which studied at the time, the Enlightened above, are we to believe that they would have wanted BLIND ingratiation of modern Americans? Would they NOT want a society that was based on Reason, Logic, Scientific Advancement, and the basic, and more than fundamental pillar of Democracy. Would they have WANTED a strangely apathetic and intellectually stupefying culture?
For Mr. Washingtons sake, we must always question our leaders and OUR decisions, we must not fall prey that is the inverted tyranny of the masses, we must be educated, we must use our Reason, to push our Nation forward. As far as my vote on Mr. Washington?
