Show corporate america we mean business now. If this movement is going to mean something, it is going to have to exercise the power the people have and that is the dollar vote. Just like the corporations do.
The other day one of the large corporations, Home Depot, tried to buy the Presidency by saying that he would put up millions of dollars in the campaign if governor Christy got into the race. I have personally spent 10's of thousand of dollars at Home Depot and I really like the store. But now is a time of sacrifice.
This country and our money has allowed the CEO and the investors to enjoy an extravagant lifestyle. If he or any other corporation thinks that it is alright for them to influence the our political system in this manner then we shouldn't buy their goods. We did it in the 50's and 60's we must send a clear message and do it again. BOYCOTT!
Our money is our vote too! We vote for which corporations we will support. ACE hardware would love to expand and hire people with experience working at Home Depot. Menards and LOWES would too. However, If watchdog groups see that Menards and LOWES are spending millions on choosing candidates we can boycott them too!
We don't have to make any demands right now. WE NEED TO MAKE EXAMPLES!
Why do the banks get to keep all of the properties they foreclose on even though most of the properties had mortgage insurance ( MIP that was paid for by the homeowner they foreclosed on)?
Shouldn't those properties go to the insurance companies that paid the insurance premium to the banks?
Consider this. If you own a home and have homeowners insurance you can file a claim for an item like a wedding ring that has been lost and the insurance will pay you the value of that item. However, if you recover that item, legally you have to either turn over the ring (or found item),or the money you received from the insurance company.
Why do the banks get to keep the money and the property they recovered from the foreclosure process? They should either have to pay the insurance companies back, who in turn can give the government back the bailout money. Or, to turn over the property to the insurance companies, who in turn should either auction them off for what they can get, or turn the property over to the federal government to auction them off.
The banks are now slowly selling off these properties because they have no incentive to do so quickly. Many properties have been sitting for 2 and 3 years because they are trying to squeeze every penny they can out of them, even though they have already been paid the insurance claim and the property shouldn't belong to them.
Guess what our elected officials know about this discrepancy and are doing nothing about it.
Taking these properties and auctioning them off again would help stimulate the economy.
Deregulation, funny how it works :).
Solution Oriented - Health Insurance
Why can't we just have National Non-Profit Health Insurance? NOT Federal Government Insurance NON-PROFIT INSURANCE! There is no other bill we have that we pay someone else to pay us. I pay all of my other bills directly to the vendor.
The insane part is that some of our dollars go to an uninterested third party in the form of a dividend. Then add huge salaries and bonuses to the executives and the amount that is actually going to our bill is significantly reduced.
Just because we live in a society that has capitalism as a component, everything should not have profit associated with it. Remember capitalism is a means not an end. It is a part of our society not the basis for it.
When I turn on the faucet in my house I get good quality water and the cost is affordable because there is no profit involved in the process. Why does our health insurance have to have a profit component?
Question: Could having National Non-Profit Health Insurance have a positive effect on the investment markets?
Is it possible that if we eliminate the whole Health Insurance Sector from the trading block on Wall Street, that those billions of dollars will be reinvested in the remaining sectors causing them to start moving again according to the (basic laws of supply and demand?. Could the market actually start moving again?
Is it possible that the old adage might apply that, :"the more you give the more you get?" Again sacrifice something for the few for the better of the whole. Even all those people working in the current health insurance companies could work for the new Non-Profit company. Hospitals that have been closing up could reopen because money would actually be going toward health services and doctors and nurses could be hired.
Could this be a part of the economic stimulus that could help us recover?
Something to consider
where will you buy your tarps? : )
