- A constitutional amendment barring donations to candidates at any level of government and barring candidates from taking donations. Elections at all levels are to be publicly funded.
No for-profit organization is allowed to advertise for or against a candidate, particular issue or cause, political ideology, or partisan belief. No non-profit concern that is materially connected to a for profit concern may do the above. Materially connected means, but is not limited to, officers, board members, or employees of the for profit, family members, friends, agents, and professional colleagues.
- Non-partisan, geographically based redistricting of Congressional districts by non-partisan bodies. The primary purpose will be to end the practice of creating safe districts for incumbents. The secondary purpose will be to prevent repeats of NC's new 2d congressional district which runs almost from SC to VA. This district was created to protect a freshman legislator by linking together areas not linked by common concerns but only by voter registration in a given party.
Sorry for the stilted language. These are kind of rough, but I think these two issues are key to creating a government that can actually work for the benefit of the American people.
