As you all know, the anti-GMO conspiracy theory is the baby of the left as the Global Warming Denialism is the conspiracy theory of the right. No matter who holds these unscientific views, they are dangerous.

We must strive towards logic and evidence based reasoning. It is the only way humanity can hope to survive.

Are you effin' kidding us, T? I second Builder's comment about "demanding peer-reviewed evidence, then quotes opinion pieces from bloggers." I'm beginning to seriously wonder about your ability to actually engage in unbiased scientific analysis.

Comments from today indicate that you may not be here anymore under this latest incarnation, but considering you'll undoubtedly be returning, and for the benefit of those that will see this in the interim, let's dispense with this biased piece of nonsense, shall we?

Your two articles are about as objective as your laughable "skepticalraptor" blog you linked to months ago and apparently you hadn't heard the name "Mark Lynas" prior to cherry-picking his blog post. Lynas is a well-known shill for biotech and there's no shortage of articles on the internet that rightly call into question his so-called conversion:

http://www.alternet.org/food/uncovering-real-story-behind-conversion-mark-lynas-climate-change-journalist-cheerleader?paging=off&current_page=1#bookmark

And there's no reason to address your second choice because it shows it's bias in the first few words, "Anti-GMO conspiracy theorists . . ."

Let's get something straight right now. The anti-GMO movement is NOT a conspiracy theory. And if you expect to put forth a convincing argument in favor of GM foods, I'd suggest you steer clear of biotech shills and industry-funded blogs, which are becoming increasingly rampant on-line.

Read some of these, then get back to us:

Download the pdf on this page and read it:

http://earthopensource.org/index.php/reports/gmo-myths-and-truths

I assume you've heard of the IAASTD report. If not, there's a link on the "Monsanto and GMOs" post but this personal note about it from Dr. Hilbeck of the Zurich Institute of Integrative Biology is worth reading:

http://www.inesglobal.com/_News/iaastd.html

Read this TruthOut article. Although it's an opinion it does have a number of good links:

http://truth-out.org/opinion/item/20065

The farming systems trial conducted by the Rodale Institute is interesting and confirms similar studies proving organic farming beats large-scale industrial monoculture hands-down. Click on the "30-year report" tab on the right, download and read the pdf:

http://rodaleinstitute.org/our-work/farming-systems-trial/

And finally (for now) an actual peer-reviewed paper that's been getting a bit of attention recently, for obvious reasons:

I anxiously await your response.

Pretty sure T's latest ID got canned by shooz, Gno.

In my best Arnie Schwarz voice; "He'll be back".

Yeah, I caught that comment from shooz from earlier today.

But, like you say and I concur, "he shall return." And I couldn't resist the opportunity to shoot down this flawed post of his, plus post some decent links that were either buried deep in the Monz post or hadn't been linked there yet.

Thanks. I had a bit of a look at the latest "debate" in scientific circles re the GE and GMOs, and I guess it's pretty much a mirror of the MSM in general, meaning disinformation by the ton, and obfuscation of anyone who sounds like they know what they're talking about.

Even the true boffins themselves are saying that no study can be deemed to be totally without doubts.

I'm content in the knowledge that despite the millions (maybe over a billion?) spent by the biotechs on trying to gloss over the cracks, people remain unconvinced of the safety of frankenfoods.

For that, I'm grateful. But we do need to stay focussed, because like a cancer, these people can continue spreading, if unchecked.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Gnomunny. We fight the good fight.

Cancer's a good analogy, B. And they have a distinct advantage over us in a number of ways. Many of their mouthpieces are professionals in the industry, which lends a lot of credibility to them, plus they're skilled in the science and terminology so they talk a very good game. Our side, on the other hand, is chock-full of the misinformed, the alarmists and a fair share of downright kooks and morons. In short, many of our numbers actually help their side.

I've learned a lot since that initial Monz post from earlier in the year, not so much the scientific aspects as much as effective tactics. In order to be successful we have to focus as much as possible on actual science and leave the opinions to the bloggers.

Merry Christmas to you and yours as well, B. A sincere thanks, and be safe and well.

And keep up your excellent work in all your endeavors, not just the fight against the globalists, but also in your life-long spread of knowledge to the uninformed masses. We strive towards a critical mass.

My views on libe(R)tarians are clear. If you bothered to look around.

Demands peer-reviewed evidence, then quotes opinion pieces from bloggers.

Here's the key "points" from your opinionated blogger.
