At the time we all thought it was to protect us from terrorism...but turns out if protestors get out of hand and respond to police brutality with physicality it can be used to detain them as enemy combatants without trial or the right to see an attorney..looks like they saw these protests coming a mile away, and just in case protests get ugly enough the patriot act is there to legalize trips to the ol tool shed for some water boarding
protest groups can be labelled as terrorist and considered to pose a legitimate threat against america...thus protestors will be treated like terrorists...detained without the right to see an attorney and also questioned with questionable methods
Now your getting the picture. Anytime the government has a multithousand page bill/law/act ready immediately after a problem, WATCH OUT. Especially those with such a worthy cause of a name, and MUST be passed before anyone can read them. Round of applause for Ron Paul to vote no on the so called Patriot Act. Now what about Obamas promise to get rid of it? I swear every thing he said to get elected was a lie.
And it gets worse, Obama is the only known president to order an assassination of a US citizen without trial/hearing/legal council/judge/jury. And the definition of terrorist is so vague that anyone speaking against the war, defending the constitution, or peacefully protesting could fall under that category.

no doubt some of the cops in manhattan at the demos are "TARU" thats a homeland security thing.
Also, NYPD has been working closely with CIA on espionage, they even cross state lines to investigate/surveail/try to engage in entrapment
You can google the above and read about it
Oh yeah, they saw this coming. Hence the "FEMA camps," militarizing our local police departments, etc. They definitely got the jump on us. Sneaky bastards!
