Forum Post: Trust the government?

I'm foolish in thinking I understand this movement at all but there is a recurring theme is more government. Maybe not more departments but more governmental regulation and control. So...

Why are corporations\banks which are select groups of people, untrustworthy? and alternately Why is the government which is a single group of select people (supposedly so untrustworthy that there are untold fortunes if you can string a few jokes about lying politicians together), trustworthy?

Anyone here understand our tax code? Can anyone explain the loopholes that allow people and businesses to pay no taxes? I'm asking because I'm middle class and even with child credit we still pay around 15% of our income. Is there a reason that the government wouldn't want us to understand the tax code?

As for more government: There are close to 500 federal government agencies. So what is the right number of government agencies?
