Just announced by the pres, agree with him or not, but he kept one promise as he is announcing that the last troops in Iraq are coming home before the year is out. We disagree with a lot of things that he has done, but today, I am thankful that this mess is finally going to be over. Finally, let the Iraqis pay for their country and not be a part of the military industrial complex that too many of our tax dollars go to.

I do not Like Obama, he is a criminal and a liar. With that being said I am glad the troops are coming home, too bad it is a political move to try and boost Obama's poll numbers.

I agree

True on the troops. I worked with one that got shipped out a couple years back. Was worried about losing a friend to an IED. At least Obama did oppose the war before we entered it. What a mess it was. I am upset at Obama for not knowing how to unite our government based on the will of the people, but all considering, all of them have dirt on their hands, some just more than others. Obama however is learning fast where we stand. I do have to ask you however, do you dislike congress less than the president? I certainly do since they do not even care about the polls of the people and vote against everything that the people support. One of the amendments that I propose through Article V is to remove the filibuster from the senate rules, because a law still has to pass the house where in theory, the house is supposed to be a more representative body because it is a representation of districts, not two votes per state.

Now, we have to face the fact. Although we do not like our government, we have to deal with it until we go the route of Article V of the constitution and move to take back the government.

Just because the "majority" of the people may want something does not make it viable to be implemented. Right now (and as always) the majority of the people opposed (and rightly so) "Obama Care" This was passed on christmas eve at night, behind closed doors. It is now been projected to cost almost 3 trillion dollars, though Pelosi and reid stated it would be less than 1 trillion. We cannot give away the country just becuase a unch of uninformed people want it that way.

one would think the majority would have labor available to enact public health care

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

So I gather you want to give it all to the big insurance companies that bankrupt us and make our healthcare system rank 33rd in the world. Ask yourself what happened to any friends and families that got sick. Many who oppose the bill think that it did not go far enough. Just another example of how money is killing our politics. The government is supposed to represent those that cant represent themselves so if you get the money out of politics, you will see truly where people stand on healthcare. To have that debate here is just wrong. Decide for yourself that if you are denied coverage for an illness if you would be able to keep your house. Bottom line, the old system was not working because costs were too high and the uninsured or those with preexisting conditions got screwed. We need a complete overhaul of healthcare where companies and big pharma are held accountable for gauging the American people.

What you are suggestion, in the most simplest of terms, is for those that can afford health care should buy their own and then pay for those who cannot? Seems very lopsided doesn't it?

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

obviously, other countries have costs on average that are less than half of our own and they provide better care. Is that not a problem? The laws over time were designed to protect the corporations and not the people. Think about it. Maybe you can afford it, but most people nowadays in a bad economy struggle to do so. This is fairness.

I'm suggest Health care should be a public service and the fire department

[-] 0 points by Rob (881) 13 years ago

there are thousands of communities that use volunteer fire fighters. The cost of a doctor is many times higher than the cost of a fire fighter and doctors are utilized at a rate of hundreds or thousands of times more than fire fighters. Please study economics and supply and demand. Do you expect doctors to work for free or substantially reduced rates?

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

this is somewhat antiquated

"In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath

but I believe this suggest the doctors should serve everyone

.,

I would expect doctors should be payed so there are able to carry out there duties

and they are not going to have immunity to kill civilians thats a huge factor why they are leaving... DOnt worry obama is working on a new war just wait

[-] 1 points by KarlHungus (1) 13 years ago

Seems a bit sudden. Ever think those troops returning from Iraq might find their way to Wall St and other "high value" locales? It is not far fetched at all that this movement could face armed opposition from our own govt to protect the elite and their interests.

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

Yes! That is the truth. I believe the returning vets will be very disappointed in the way our country treats vets and the fact that they struggle to find economic justice after risking their lives.

I'm so happy..finally....now, let's see what THEY have to say :)

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

Is there any official announcement?

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

Seen the president on the TV today, he said it loud and clear, so we can hold him accountable if it is not true and he does not live up to it, but it could not be more plain in message.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

I just looked it up and I posted the link. I'm really happy they're finally coming home. I can't imagine what they must have gone through..

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

Yes, now we as the people of this country can now turn our focus to where it is needed. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44990594/ns/world_news-mideast_n_africa/?Gt1=43001#.TqGrjt6scvk

I saw you in the other thread.

Now, I want to see our country move towards our own rights here so we can take back the government from special interests.

Working on something now. It is not complete yet, we want to put our own video and convene so that we can put the technicals in place to make this happen. By the end of the weekend, we will have in place a page where people who want to attend a conference can learn how to amend the constitution through Article V. This will give change to our long term strategy so we are not in wars that we do not want while still preserving who we are meant to be, a free nation that sets an example for the rest of the world allowing the experiment in democracy to win in the end. Send me a message with your Skype ID if you want to see more.

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

I see alot of merit to this! I unfortunately do not have a Skype ID though..is there any other means of communication that would work for you?

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

Skype is free to get: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/windows/

Private message me with your Skype ID and when we start to run web conferences, you will get an invite. Also, we are starting a Skype chat to work with Article V

[-] 1 points by yasminec001 (584) 13 years ago

Alright! Thanks, I will message you as soon as I get one. Good luck.

[-] 1 points by Glisteningshine (5) 13 years ago

[-] 1 points by larryathome (161) from Red Bank, NJ 13 years ago

Believe me, I do agree, I hope nobody throws a wrench in this.
