Both accepting contributions from Goldman Sachs is the same.

Both voting for NDAA is the same.

Both declaring war on Iraq is the same.

Not identical, but the same.

JACKSON, MISS. A wealthy man in a fine suit and top hat fell into deep water. He didn't know how to swim and was on the verge of drowning. Hearing his cries, another man dived into the water and saved him as his top hat floated away. The man who had almost drowned regained his breath and, for a moment, seemed grateful. Three years later, though, he returned and denounced his rescuer for not saving his hat, too.

That story is that Franklin D. Roosevelt is said to have told describing what he had done for big- business men in 1933 when, in the words of Raymond Moley, a member of Roosevelt's New Deal brain trust, "capitalism was saved in eight days." Those were the days

A troll is a supernatural being in Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore. Trolls may be ugly and slow-witted or look and behave exactly like human beings, with no particularly grotesque characteristic about them. Trolls are sometimes associated with particular landmarks, which at times may be explained as formed from a troll exposed to sunlight.

Only a slow witted person, or troll thinks there is any material difference between the "choices" the American public is offered to fill the office of the president. Being given the option between forced drowning, or being burned alive, is rather superfluous. You can argue all you like between the advantages of being drown, over fire, but in the end, the victim is still dead.

In my corner, we use trolls to go fishing, I always saw a troll on the net as someone trying to catch a fish. Or if you prefer, someone trying to make you look ridiculous.

I do not say they are the same. I say I am going to vote for Obama, but with my eyes open and holding my nose.

Here's the meat: "They seem to agree that poor people aren't paying enough income taxes, though I haven't heard Obama actually say so. They killed the "making work pay" tax credit for low wage workers and not only was there no funeral, you could scrub the MSM for even a death notice- hardly a peep. For me my opposition to Romney and the GOP is about other things - I don't expect and won't tell anyone else to expect Obama not to implement a cruel austerity. It's about their more strident war drive, their racialist anti Black dog whistles, their anti gay and anti woman stands. I drive taxi and scan the radio all night. Last night I caught an ad for "Pink Slip Obama" that ended with an ominous "our founding fathers would be shooting by now " (edit)." http://pinkslipobama.net/bumper%20sticker%20pay%20for%20ammo.jpg Lines have been drawn for this election. It's pretty clear. http://pinkslipobama.net/index_005.htm"

Beat Romney 2012.

Obama is pushing to raise taxes on the 2% & if the House was not full of teapotty cro-magnons, he would have succeeded
Obama expanded Medicaid for millions of the poor
I agree - he shold have fought MUCH harder for progressive actions, but he is NOT a king - who can force anything thru the congress

Did you know?

Have you heard, the FED is about to go ahead with QE3. Another handout to Wall Street that will further devalue the dollar. They have been doing this in order to fight off deflation. The economy needs to allow some deflation because right now the current level of demand has dropped significantly. Normally when this happens, prices fall and the dollar increases in value. This would lead to more demand, which would spur more hiring. The FED is fighting this natural flow of the market by propping up artificial inflation to protect shareholder profits. Did you know all of that?

[-] 1 points by frogmanofborneo (602) from New York, NY 12 years ago

I know that they say there is no inflation and yet my wife who does the shopping tells me that food keeps getting more expensive. Thank God I'm still able to work because she tells me about old people in the supermarket breaking down crying. The gas I put into my taxi is going up again. Of course the bastards aren't doing anything to help the "little people."

Thanks for your efforts.

[-] 1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 12 years ago

Prices aren't just going up, product size is going down as well. There is no way that inflation is just 3%, at least not in my town.

I swear I could buy a box of saltine crackers for $1 a couple years ago

yesterday I spent $2.50

[-] 2 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 12 years ago

As long as people are willing to pay $2.50, they will raise it even higher next year.

i think people who respond to "trolls" are the biggest trolls of all, after all people have to do is not respond to them and the "troll problem" goes away. If no one responds to a "troll" then what would have been just an expressed opinion has been elevated by the "troll accuser" as an attack on a person's freedom of speech.

[-] 4 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 12 years ago

Bensdad's definition of troll is anyone who holds a different point of view from him.

[-] 3 points by beautifulworld (23827) 12 years ago

There are many of us here who have responded to trolls over the many months we've been here simply to create a record of our own opinions and to counter the trolls' comments. If we never responded to trolls their comments would be the standing record. Trolls are often a great way to get our own points across.

Troll logic: And what is online if not some abstract excerpt... in the theme centered social network only those intrusive have a voice; those that agree have nothing further to discus. I don't know what's worse here - the troll or the censorship.

[-] 1 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

But the policies of the parties are not the same! Isn't that difference what matters.?

[-] -1 points by funkytown (-374) 12 years ago

It matters to the future of America, meaning the overall happiness and prosperity of its people, where the center lies. That center has, from its earliest inception over one thousand years ago, been slightly to the right of center. And so it shall remain.

[-] 1 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

That's BS. a Thousand years? Not true! for hundreds of years since the enlightenment the planet has been moving left. The right will die as more people learn we can't survive with the hatefulness of the right!

[-] 0 points by funkytown (-374) 12 years ago

No... the reality is that humanism lives slightly to the right of center.

[-] 1 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

Whatever you say republican boy.

[-] 0 points by funkytown (-374) 12 years ago

Hundreds of years since the enlightenment... and what is "enlightenment"? America's freedom has at least an eight hundred year history in the cultural mindset.

But, who cares... I never called you a bitch but quite obviously that's what you are.

[-] 0 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

Surprise, surprise, the republican doesn't know what the Enlightenment is. You did cite history but it doesn't ring a bell. And you don't know what it is to enlightened?

Wow!

Knuckle drag much?

[-] 0 points by funkytown (-374) 12 years ago

Actually I do know precisely what it is, but most do not. You're just another fool with a big mouth; you've probably never paid Fed taxes and have no financial stake whatsoever, excepting, of course, the fear of spending cuts. I have no political allegiance.

[-] 0 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

You're a republican piece of shit. I've paying taxes for 33 years little boy!

[-] 1 points by funkytown (-374) 12 years ago

And then what? The dog up and died? You're an asswipe with a big mouth. And sane people do not berate others - especially anonymous strangers - like you do on nationwide public forums and then expect others to respect their opinion.

[-] -1 points by sandysterling (10) 12 years ago

At my magazine's office, we like to say - "Romney and Obama are the same, it's just that Obama has more vacation time to work on his tan." Lol!

[-] 2 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

'cause he's black right? Aaaah Ha ha ha ha. Racist humor that's great. You don't like Obama because he is a black man?

[-] 2 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

I guess you like racist jokes against the President?

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

how many towel Afghanistan massacres does it take to make a terrorist ?

[-] 1 points by repubsRtheprob (1209) 12 years ago

You're still not making sense.

[-] 1 points by sandysterling (10) 12 years ago

I like Obama. It's just a joke. Our office is made up of all kinds of people from all kinds of minorities. They guy who usually tells that Obama joke is black. We have a dark sense of humor. Not Obama dark, but pretty dark.

Yeah, yeah, racists jokes are ok when you like the guy. Sure, You got any about african, native, head shrinking, unga bonga, cannibal, stuff. It's ok if you got a black in the office. We got a black guy who comes by and empties the garbage cans so we can tell racists jokes against the president too right?. How about some welfare cheat jokes, or thug criminal ones?, those are my favorite. Big lips and nose jokes? Ah Good times.

Keep racist crap to yourself motherfucker!
