Forum Post: to the people who are looking for financial statements of OWS NYC

Hello, I had mentioned that I would report anything financial related that I find out, so our supporters who are not physically with us in NYC can see where the money is going. I found a statement in the minutes from the GA on Oct. 28. It's not much but it's something. I would like to add that we took a consensus about sending aid to Oakland and we did send them 20,000 plu 100 tents after their camp got destroyed by the cops and many were jailed. Here is a small amount of what I have learned. I will be there tomorrow and will try to report more as i get it. I think you all for supporting us and I want you to know that although we are experiencing some growing pains and miscomunication, I will do my best to get you guys reports. Today the OWS financial working group on behalf of the OWS GA wants to release our financial details as part of our hope that we can be transparent and accessible our statements will be realized frequently and we want to hold open meetings for people to speak with finance, we’d also like to say the GA is completely in change of financial decisions. OWS has spent about $55,000 the single largest cost has been for food, medical care, and laundry at Zuccotti Park at total of about $ 22,000. The cost of communication systems is 2nd at about $20,000 OWS has raised about 450,000 in public donations and has about 400,000 on hand! Thats our announcement.>>>
