Please consider the following course of action in the future when the time is right and the General Assemblies duly authorize. Shouldn't be acted on unless General Assemblies approve. 8 specific demands that are actionable and will make a difference PLUS tactics to ensure successful outcome. This is one way to do DC right! http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-please-help-editadd-so-th/
OBVIOUSLY we need to continue to grow the movement right now so the above item is appropriate once that additional growth has taken place. We need to spend time right now discovering what we have in common so we can grow the number of supporters. Once we realize we are the 99%, it will be clear how absurd it is that te 1% have ruled over and exploited the 99% for so long. At that point we'll be making decisions from a position of unified power.
That said, it doesn't hurt to look down the road to consider strategy. My view is that an emboldened 99% could pull this off as a first wave of action, the first of dozens of waves. This gets specific: http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-please-help-editadd-so-th/
It's gonna get nasty out there...

So: One logical conclusion here is the tax revenue used directly or indirectly by each city to support OWS... If one teacher or firefighter or peace officer looses their job due to cutbacks from diminishing tax revenue in the "O" cities then OWS is doing a disservice to that city... Which flies in the face of the principals of a moral society. Which you are all here to uphold. Moving the party to DC will create a fresh media event [ keeping OWS on the radar ] and will relieve any city services now in place to support OWS in all of the major cities - You all now and are living the financial meltdown... OWS simply does not have the luxury to use the public money in this way. Collectively OWS relocation into DC [ not sure about this ] would be taping federal money... peace AtomicZ...
Huh?
Up till now I haven't seen any media coverage on the cost to cities - I posted the above in the afternoon - & sure enuff LA is stating they have paid out 60K so far on the Occupy folks in that city on the network news tonight - these forums [ well dahh ] are closely filtered by your opposition... peace AtomicZ...
A daily protest in front of the White House may be a good idea.
Now you're talking. That's a beginning.
We will support you however we can. We have your back. Tell us what you need and we are there.
We need Occupy DC to swell to 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 people.
The fact that former director of Goldman Sachs is surrendering to FBI today shows that there is a pattern of behavior in the financial industry that must be countered. We, the people, can make sure Congress takes action to reign in these giants who behave badly.
It is incredible what's been accomplished in less than 2 months. Hard to believe that so many around the world have unified to stand up against the corporate greed and corresponding political corruption that has deeply affected the lives of the global community. We are the 99% and we cannot be defeated once we realize we have more things in common than we have separating us.
A huge thanks to all of those bravely occupying all over the United States and the world. Also a huge thanks to those who helped organize this movement putting the long hours in quietly in the early days. You're all heroes from New York to Hong Kong.
You're doing good things here. Sure beats the idiots that have populated this forum lately, who obviously don't have much of a life in the outside world. Keep up the good fight.
You too! Nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come!!
What's happening is amazing. I wish I knew more about the nuances of law and the Constitution so I could help more. As it is, I'm trying to do my small part by hanging on this site and trying to help the curious and uninformed. As I gain more knowledge I'll be able to assume a more visible role. I've got time, I'm presently unemployed (100% my fault) and besides, despite people's impatience, this won't get done overnight. Like I've been telling people, we've only been at this a few months. The first American Revolution took seven years.
So glad you're here. Keep participating in this forum and we'll crowd out the nonsense with as much positive actionable or newsworthy material as possible. Here's something re experience I was fortunate to have a few days ago with member of congress http://occupywallst.org/forum/i-met-directly-with-a-member-of-congress-2days-ago/
Just read it. That and the comment I read earlier about the NY reporter interviewing the CEO of a major bank, who was also frightened tells you things are indeed getting interesting! "Second, they fear you."
This is moving to a whole new level now.
Exactly. It's happening. :). This movement is transforming into a revolution.
