Peeping Toms, on top of it all.
I can't believe the people who are saying the police are doing their jobs the way they should be. We have proof that they are violently beating and arresting people for no good reason. You're not going to see it on Fox or CNN, go look at Youtube or Twitter. Those are the only sources you can trust.

God bless the police who are following the law. Making the protesters move does not violate their 1st Amendment rights. They can still protest, just someplace else. Not enforcing the laws regarding the park occupation for this long was the problem.
Did you see it? Check out you tube on "occupy wall-street" Every suppression will add more people to the movement - no matter what there political views are. This is about the majority of the people and a test for democracy!

If it wasn't for the NYPD, New York City would not exist. Because the criminal element would devour everybody.
I hear the NYPD has many corrupt and criminal minded police officers.
Absolutely but we also need to keep things in perspective - NY has been a center for criminal activity for hundreds of years. Without the police force they would openly prey on all until finally the city itself was abandoned.
Three hundred years ago self defense was the norm in the form of direct action. But at some point the people chose to remove themselves from the need of this direct intervention; we chose to insulate ourselves from the violence.
Crime in Brooklyn is up by 90% because as the yuppies continue to move in, so do the gangs that prey on them. This is not the world of the 70s activist - it's more dangerous - and the police presence must be continually refined to counter it.
Wow, didn't realize it had changed so much.
Humanity, OWS has them too
It is not acceptable for those that enforce the laws to be above those laws. This is the root cause of a cancer stricken society which we now face today.
The NYPD was created out of a gang centuries after the city's foundation.
Very true and it's the largest gang in NY.
NY's finest. No city did a better job removing this unhealthy and unsafe encampment
I feel sorry for the police, being degraded to act against peacefully citizen. How motivating is that?
They enjoyed doing, as it was good for NYC and downtown. Downtown is a special place since 9/11. Just a few blocks away we lost so many citizena, police and firemen. The encampment was unhealthy and unsafe.
Even more a pace of liberty and free speech. This attack was not much different then 9/11 - a Attack on democracy!
(This comparison mind sound a little over the top, but despite the people that died in 9/11, it was a attack on democracy, a violation ant vandalism by the city! (Books, Kitchen, Tends, Laptops, all destroyed)
And a waist of taxpayers money, A cleaning squad would have done a better job, and OWS would have even paid for it. Now they pay lawyers.
