50 years of Democrats controlling Detroit, and Detroit goes from the 4th richest city in America to the poorest.
This economic crisis has been caused by the liberal fiscal policies of Bush and the socialist policies of Obama. Blame the gov't, not the banks.
the far rights siren songs. we should blame the banks for what is the banks fault and the government for what is the governments fault.
14,000,000,000,000 (fourteen million million) plus $1,600,000,000,000 added each year. We currently can not pay the interest on this money with our tax revenue. Taking all of the money, not taxing all of the money, of those making over $250,000 per year does not fill the gap. The clear implication, taxes do not do the trick so "taxing the rich" is nothing but a Democratic buzz word to incite support. We must stop spending and that means some are going to suffer, some. If we do not control this insanity, we all will suffer, ALL. Are you aware that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of wealthy Americans making contingency plans to leave America if this thing blows up? No? It is true. Are you aware that millions of Americans are making plans to unite for mutual protection if this thing blows up? No? Well, it is true also. On the verge of collapse and the damned Democrats are still name calling, finger pointing, twisting words, lying and any thing else they can do to further a failing ideology. No? Read:
How about we cut defense in half?
Oh wait...I forgot, somebody, somewhere needs, of all things, a BOMB, to keep the peace, which makes perfect sense if you don't think about it.
I mean I would prefer peace and all but do you really think there aren't factions all over the world that would love to see us destroyed?
Most of defense spending creates good jobs anyways - both military and civilian.
I actually have absolutely no fear of being attacked by anybody outside this country. There are AT LEAST 3,000 MILES between US and ANYBODY ELSE. Homeland security is one thing, bombing Durka-Durkastan is another. the only thing that does is make the Durkans hate us more and give people motivation to attack us, people whom, before we bombed them, would not have even thought about attacking us.
I have more fear of petty criminals robbing me or getting nervous and doing something stupid such as killing me. I'm also Infinitely more afraid of police doing something stupid or a DA trying to make a name for himself than I am of anything else happening to me.
And I know defense spending creates jobs, but why complain about spending if you aren't willing to cut things that more than 50% of the country disagrees with? Less than 50% of the country disagrees with SS, Medicare, and Medicaid, and even though I disagree with those programs, the people who are paying for them, don't. It's our tax money and we should decide what gets cut, not some bureaucrat.
What about all those people, both military and civilian, who would inevitably loose their jobs? Those are usually pretty good jobs with benefits.
Go look at a graph of the unemployment rate in the 20th century and you will see exactly the effect of military spending on the unemployement rate and ultimately the economy.
Defense spending keeps our country safe, on the cutting edge of technology, and provides a ton of good jobs.
Dems and Repubs is both corrupt! They're so corrupt they don't even deserve to be discussed with appropriate grammar.
I am a democrat who strongly dislikes the 2 party system. I also hate that public interest groups keep things like tobacco legal and guns in the hands of idiots, psychos and felons hiding behind the 2nd amendment. That being said, without corporations, none of us would be communicating. There would be no televisions, telephones, cellular phones, computers or electric lights and heat in homes for that matter. Moderation is the key. You guys need to get an agenda and positively move toward something. Otherwise, it seems like a fringe group without an attainable goal.
The Government is so corrupt. The only way to fix it is restart it.

Who cares what party did what? There is enough blame to go around. It is time for both party's to listen and fix. They both have to listen to the people. No more listening to them.
That's like saying blame the soldier, not the commanding officer. The banks tell the government what to do.
Unlike soldiers, the gov't would get support for not listening to their commanding officer (banks).
Soldiers get no support for disobeying their officers. If the gov't defied banks they would get our vote, and there would be nothing banks could do, short of a violent destabilizing mercenary coup that we ourselves would fight back against, to prevent us from voting.
The gov't listens to the money. Until we pound the message home, either peacefully or violently, they will listen to money. no matter who it is, what party their from, or how long they have been in washington, as long as they are there they will care more about doing what a bank wants than they will about what we want, because if we vote them out and they did what the banks wanted then the banks will guarantee them a good paying job. If we don't vote them out, then they leave when the banks offer them a high paying job. Either way, whether they serve 1 term or 10 terms, by listening to the banks they guarantee themselves good pay.
Ron Paul is ignoring the big corporate interests. How much mainstream media air time does he get, relative to Wall Street darling Mitt Romney?
No, with money influencing politics, politicians are effectively fired if they ignore the crack of the bankster whip.
so you're suggesting that because a bank endorses someone we should listen?
That's my whole point, the bank doesn't pay us to listen to their endorsement, so we can vote however we want and if you take our side, we will vote for you and see through the 10 foot high pile of bullshit that bank have lain in front of us
That's exactly the opposite of what I want. Either I'm not making my point clearly enough, or you are intentionally twisting the statement.
My point was that most politicians don't stand a chance of reelection if they don't fall in line with their corporate sponsors. Their sponsors pull their funding and the candidate can't afford his [re]election campaign. Money almost always wins elections, unfortunately. Ron Paul is an example. He is being systematically ignored in virtually all of the mainstream media because his platform is dangerous to the status quo on Wall Street.
No blame the government AND the banks, among others. These institutions fuel conflict theory and social class disparities together. It is supported by decades of research. Most Americans who work hard and live the American Dream are ignorant of these facts or chose to ignore them. Understand the problem before pointing blame.
Maybe we should demand an end to elections for a while so the president and congress can focus on their jobs instead of all this election business.
Don't fall for this psychological crap from any one percent goon. It's an obvious attempt to divert our attention from the obscene, unjust, immoral, and illogical concentration of wealth. Donald Trump went on record the other day telling us to blame the government instead of Wall Street and the richest one percent. His goons are obviously online and on air trying to divert our attention. Don't fall for it. Just keep protesting no matter what the one percent goons say or do. Our message is vital. Below is my two cents:
We have been mislead by Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama, and nearly every other public figure. Economic growth, job creation, and actual prosperity are not necessarily a package deal. In fact, the first two are horribly misunderstood. Economic growth/loss (GDP) is little more than a measure of wealth changing hands. A transfer of currency from one party to another. The rate at which it is traded. This was up until mid ’07′ however, has never been a measure of actual prosperity. Neither has job creation. The phrase itself has been thrown around so often, and in such a generic political manner, that it has come to mean nothing. Of course, we need to have certain things done for the benefit of society as a whole. We need farmers, builders, manufacturers, transporters, teachers, cops, firefighters, soldiers, mechanics, sanitation workers, doctors, managers, and visionaries. Their work is vital. I’ll even go out on a limb and say that we need politicians, attorneys, bankers, investors, and entertainers. In order to keep them productive, we must provide reasonable incentives. We need to compensate each by a fair measure for their actual contributions to society. We need to provide a reasonable scale of income opportunity for every independent adult, every provider, and share responsibility for those who have a legitimate need for aid. In order to achieve and sustain this, we must also address the cost of living and the distribution of wealth. Here, we have failed miserably. The majority have already lost their home equity, their financial security, and their relative buying power. The middle class have actually lost much of their ability to make ends meet, re-pay loans, pay taxes, and support their own economy. The lower class have gone nearly bankrupt. In all, its a multi-trillion dollar loss taken over about 30 years. Millions are under the impression that we need to create more jobs simply to provide more opportunity. as if that would solve the problem. It won’t. Not by a longshot. Jobs don’t necessarily create wealth. In fact, they almost never do. For the mostpart, they only transfer wealth from one party to another. A gain here. A loss there. Appreciation in one community. Depreciation in another. In order to create net wealth, you must harvest a new resource or make more efficient use of one. Either way you must have a reliable and ethical system in place to distribute that newly created wealth in order to benefit society as a whole and prevent a lagging downside. The ‘free market’ just doesn’t cut it. Its a farce. Many of the jobs created are nothing but filler. The promises empty. Sure, unemployment reached an all-time low under Bush. GDP reached an all-time high. But those are both shallow and misleading indicators. In order to gauge actual prosperity, you must consider the economy in human terms. As of ’08′ the average American was working more hours than the previous generation with far less equity to show for it. Consumer debt, forclosure, and bankruptcy were also at all-time highs. As of ’08′, every major American city was riddled with depressed communities, neglected neighborhoods, failing infrastructures, lost revenue, and gang activity. All of this has coincided with massive economic growth and job creation. Meanwhile, the rich have been getting richer and richer and richer even after taxes. Our nation’s wealth has been concentrated. Again, this represents a multi-trillion dollar loss taken by the majority. Its an absolute deal breaker. Bottom line: With or without economic growth or job creation, you must have a system in place to prevent too much wealth from being concentrated at the top. Unfortunately, we don’t. Our economy has become nothing but a giant game of Monopoly. The richest one percent already own nearly 1/2 of all United States wealth. More than double their share before Reagan took office. Still, they want more. They absolutely will not stop. Now, our society as a whole is in serious jeapordy. Greed kills.
Please quit pasting this into every single post that doesn't make you giggle with delight. If you have something relevant and intelligent to share by all means say so but this is just sad.
The answer is 'no'.
You only discredit your fellow protesters and water down the message by doing so.
Rather than look for information or counterarguments to the statements being made, many will write off that possibility after seeing your message plastered across every single post.
You're doing far more harm than good here.
The answer is still 'no'.
It's all the fault of the republicans, republican opposition is the only way that Detroit failed.
If the entire country was democrat, including all cities, and we all worked together we would succeed
Sooo how's that workin out for California?
no you dumbo, that was the point, the republicans were not able to oppose the dems, and the dems destroyed the city with their pro-UAW and pro-welfare laws.
Nope. Try again. Heavily democratic congress and president have failed us as badly as republicans. Both parties love Wall Street Money more than citizens.
Which presidential candidate got more Wall Street money than any other? Obama. He's clearly made good on their investment with the additional bailouts.
