...do you support ending ALL Bush Tax cuts? I just want to know where this is going.
All tax cuts, all tax deductions, all "other" taxes like property taxes, tag fees for cars, building permit fees, gas taxes, taxes levied on cell phones and cable bills. Just take a flat percent already. The money and resources saved from having to audit and monitor compliance with our convoluted and archaic tax code would make the whole thing worth it.
Do you realize that a Flat Tax rate would kill the middle and poor class and let the rich off the hook? We should be advocating a HIGHER RATE from the ultra rich and getting multinationals to pay their taxes and keep the jobs here! Saying that the rich deserve to pay the same rate as their fry cook is INCREDIBLY SPOILED of them especially because it is the poor and middle class that -made- them rich. "Punishing Success" my ass!
On the subject of multinationals - "Buy America or bye bye America" - Why isn't anybody from the Democrat and Republican side endorsing this? Why is Obama pushing for three more FTAs...one of which would KILL Bay Area tech jobs? For the people my ass! Does anybody in Congress with influence even -want- to end the other Rape -oops I mean "Free"- Trade Agreements we are in now?
It's not just rich people that pay property taxes, gas taxes, cell phone bills, etc. It's also the middle and the poor classes.
If the rich are going to complain about "punishing success"- then they can move to Brazil like the traitors that they are...and they can SELL to Brazil only too but not to the US of A! Really now...making $2 mil rather than $10 mil is punishing success? What the hell?
Flat, Bush tax cuts, or otherwise, there needs to be more attention paid to waste in government otherwise we're just continuing to feed a huge, inefficient, ineffective beast. And I'm not talking about the little stuff that gets media attention, I'm talking about the waste that's endemic across government in the form of people, programs, and entrire organizations that do little or nothing to serve their intended purposes and the lack of accountability or performance.
Cut out the waste and demonstrate that the money is spent in an efficient and effective manner and you'll have a whole lot less people resistant to paying more and far less need for them to do so.
