The most surprising advice was 1) take a picture of an online atomic clock website, so that you can determine the drift of your camera's clock. 2) Take pictures along the way of street signs and addresses, so that you can reconstruct where you were, when.
This will help to reduce the challenge to risk of spoilation of data evidence (including digital photo and digital video).
