Then ALL contracts the city, state, etc., enter into should be subject to voter referendum and ratification-- not just those with the working people.

Any (a) mult year contract over a certain amount or (b) single contract over a certain amount should. Absolutely.

We should have publicly funded campaigns that would end union corruption

And corporations, partnerships and individuals. Oh, and foreigners, and the self funding rich candidates.

. All persons should have the right to collectively bargain. The problem is not the private sector unions where both sides , labor and management, have skin in the game. The real problem it is public sector unions where the side supposedly representing the taxpayers ( including those taxpayers who do not belong to public sector unions) bargain with our, not their own, money . All municipal labor contracts should be subject to voter referendum and ratification. Those who must burden the costs should have a say which they currently don't.

I'm sorry you are alienated from your brothers and sisters but this struggle should help educate all the people who have bought into the anti-union propaganda of the 1%. It is the case that many in union leadership positions have been corrupted by the 1% but the rank and file union people have not been and the right to form and join a union to defend your rights against the boss and the 1% is fundamental to democracy.

You have union members in the park who disagree

Yeah, god forbid hard working people unionized and demanded fair working conditions.

They should just accept the fact that Walmart destroyed their small town and now pays them a crap wage.

Give me a break.
