Great post, but I think they need to occupy the only republics left -- their state houses.

The United States of America, Inc. is a private, for-profit company incorporated in the state of Delaware, and so is the military (it is a separate private company). Private companies don't have to listen to The People; republics do have to listen to The People.

Occupy your state houses and demand that our federal level be un-incorporated in Chancery Court in Delaware, and that it be put into receivership into the hands of The People. Then, the U.S. will no longer be a private company and will have to operate according to the will of The People which is codified in The U.S. Constitution. Your states have to guarantee you a republican form of government. This is a clause written into the state constitutions.

If you tell them that you have not agreed to being ruled by a private company (a consortium of private companies in actually), they have to fix it because it is in their state laws.

This would be a very effective way to bust the federal government back to being a republic ruled by a body of laws instead of a body of tyrannts. You can then have state public hearings and ask the states to fix the out-of-control federal government. You can give the states your demands. But, be reasonable.

A short list of the worse offenses that need fixed. End Corporate Government. End the Wars, End the Fed. End the Income Tax. End Corporate Campaign Finance. Institute a Tobin Tax to Fund the Domestic Assistance Programs. Two Term Limit. Etc.

Don't get crazy with it; Do like Jefferson would want you to do and take the government back by mass action at the grassroots level. The People are the government, and the states Have to respect That and enforce the will of The People. It is the way our system is supposed to work.

As concerned US citizens we would all do well to study our nation's founders and their writings.

How many here know what President Andrew Jackson's epitaph was? I was surprised to read this on OWS's sister site.

How many were assassinated trying to get away from the FED? Off the top of the head they tried to get to get Andrew Jackson's as his tomb says "I killed the bank" President Lincoln tried to get away from the Euro with Green Backs and was Assassinated President Garfield tried to get away from the FED and was assassinated President JFK tied using interest free United States silver certificate notes and was assassinated Gadaffy recently tried using Dinars instead of American dollars to pay for oil and was assassinated I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of others.

the declaration of independence. I've read it multiple times throughout my life. Most recently about 2 weeks ago.

If you replace Great Britain with our government and members of the corrupt in the list of grievances, we are in a similar situation.

Please don't compare a group that fought with their life on the line to gain independence from a true tyranny to the Occupy movement. Until people in OWS start getting mowed down in the streets and take up arms, it's downright disrespectful to those who fought to establish America.

Those Patriots flooding cities all over this country come from all political and ethnic backgrounds. They believe in what made this country great, and in it's time of need have and will continue to react, even if you choose not:

When others oppose this movement, show them this...

Truth

OWS is not anticorporation and anti-banks. It is against corporations that abuse their power and are infiltrating our government. It is against the abuse of the monetary system that the federal reserve is responsible for. We have a debt based privatized monetary system that is not in the constitution. The abuse of Wall Street, the federal reserve, and the government has caused our US dollar to decrease in value drastically over the past 14 years.

Propose a bill to end the patriot act.

Propose a bill to end massive contributions from lobbyists, unions, and corporate influences. The "supreme" court ruled McCain-Feingold unconstitutional. Obviously the supreme court is corrupt. They claimed that "McCain-Feingold" denied "free speech" even though 1: Money isn't free and 2: 100% of US citizens still would have had freedom of speech and the ability to contribute to campaigns. So how was the supreme court able to say it suppresses free speech? Another fact, a lot of corporations are owned through many investors. Sometimes these investors are foreigners. I didn't know foreigners in other countries were allowed to participate in our government. The government is supposed to be governed by it's people. I feel like most members of the government have never read the constitution.

I'd say propose a bill to nationalize the federal reserve but that bill has already been created and is being reviewed by the Financial Institutions and Credit Committee. Look up The National Emergency Employment Defense Act of 2011.

All these rich people keep telling us that our country is in massive debt... all the while they keep making more money. These rich people are members of congress and the president.

"Both parties are rotten - how could they not be, given the complete infestation of the political system by corporate money on a scale that now requires a presidential candidate to raise upwards of a billion dollars to be competitive in the general election?"

Guys, think for yourselves. Jefferson was also a big slave owner and saw nothing wrong with it. Not everything Jefferson believed in was right.

You have your own brains; it's about the same size and just as good as Jefferson's. Pick and choose the best ideas from people.

Seldom is anyone person 100% right about everything, Jefferson included. (I'm not saying he's 100% wrong.) There were other founding fathers who disagreed with some of what he believed in.
