This will surely give some the day long giggles. Of all places on Fox News.
Our choice of words, especially in places like MA Bay, is something that has changed radically over even just the last 30 years. Their speech was less demeaning, less confrontational, more respectful. It grants a power as ability to influence that is rather incredible; a lot can be said with very few words. And people listen. It's pretty amazing.
The current habit of the verbal lambasting intended as a personal check on individuality and personal opinion is not only disturbing, but in MA Bay, would have actually been considered fighting words. And those fights were often extremely bloody, violently offensive to one's sensibilities.
We need more of that in present society; people need to be held personally responsible, "accountable," for the words that emanate or this behavior will proliferate. Behold: our present political circus, our media, and the words of the many imbeciles that appear in this very forum.
Conversational limits need be enforced or logical debate cannot ensue.
