The one demand that would make the most difference toward eliminating income inequality is to end all private campaign donations, and instead to have completely publicly financed elections. Some small sum--like $10--should be deducted from everyone's taxes, the money should be equally divided between candidates, and they would have to run their campaigns on that and free TV time for debates. No more lobbyists; campaign consultants; politicians would have to worry about appealing to the masses with their ideas rather than making promises to those with the most money. We should demand promise from all those campaigning in upcoming election to support it, or we will not support them.
Such an elegant and simple solutiion. Why don't those who make laws think in similar ways?
Yes, I know, money is power and they want all they can get.
