This morning is one of those defining moments. And it will be measured not by the results but by how we handle the process no matter what the results. We should be peaceful, calm, kind and non-violent above all else. America and the world are watching. In my view, a win is actually quite possible, even likely, because I define a win as "America and the world seeing a heroic group of people in the park standing up (or sitting in / lying down) for what they believe in while at the same time being kind, calm and above all else, non-violent no matter what the results." That's the win here and we have complete control over that. Let's be that change. Let's show all of America, all of the world, the best of us.

Solidarity, peace and love. There's nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come. The rising comes from the firm commitment to the cause through non-violent means. Therein lies our power. Whether we end up in this park or that park, this jail or that jail, everywhere we carry with us our peace, our non-violence, our grit and determination, our SMILE. America and the world will see that peaceful smile ad we will win. Because they will join us. The more the 1% resist, the more people will join the 99%. We can't lose if we focus on how we react during the process.

Remember, the whole world will be watching every move. Let's show them our best, not just this morning, but every moment of each day, from New York to LA, from London to Tokyo. This is our moment. The future is ours.

"Sooner or later but mus' ...The dam going to bus' ...and everyone will break out ...And who will stop them?... The force?... What force can stop this river of people who already know their course." - Bongo Jerry (Rastafarian poet)

"And now we lay our case before the entire world. Whether we win or whether we die, freedom will rise like the sun through the morning clouds." - Breyton Breytonbach before being sentenced in court for his non-violent direct action activity in South Africa.

Yea.. stop taking craps on the American Flag. Stop ostrasizing Tea Party members who are trying to help you. Stop screeming like wild frat parties when cameras come around.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

It is amazing how many people in the tea party support occupy Wall St and that is a good thing because these folks are definitely a part of the 99% and the whole point right now is to get the 99% to realize they are the 99%. Thank you for making your point. Newt Gingrich, in a round about way without knowing it, advertised this point during the most recent republican debate. By the way, I applaud the republicans for having so many debates. Haven't they had about 20 by now :). Very democratic!

Would love to see Cain win.. But seriously.. Jose Ditchdigger would be the best President, Joe the plumber the Vice, and then We replace all the reps in congress with Middle Income Business owners. Watch America change in 30 seconds flat..

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

Im not kidding About the crapping on the American Flag.. that ass needs to get thrown out of the US if he wants to shit on the Flag.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

What are you talking about man? Seriously. I'm curious. Who are you afraid is going to hurt the flag?

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Oh, I get it. You're one of those guys who helps FOX do their fake news! Weren't you interviewed on Colbert? Man do you ever have a lot of free time. Anyway, the point is, you're doing the bidding of the 1% but you're a part of the 99%. Why are you attacking your own people, people that are fighting for You?

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

One.. Fox news has nothing to interest me.. Second.. I do not want you fighting fo me.. I handle that on my own. I would rather side with my own interests, which is calling a dog a dog, and watching my cat kick its ass. I have been saying this from the beginning.. you want to effect change,.. Do it in the government.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Corporations own the present government. Your method is just rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

no.. my meathod.. is to torpedo the Titanic and replace it with motorboats.. and if they can't get off the ship in time? they go under

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Wow. That's quite a plan. And what do you do after that? Seriously?

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

Party - "You successfully took down the US Business controlled Governement, toppled the worst regime in decades, and killed all the real terrorirsts destroying America.... What are your plans now?""""""""

I'm going to Disneyland!!!!!

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

That's funny. The first thing you think of is fantasyland. That's where you live right now. It's a gilded cage (you're clearly rich) but it's a cage nevertheless. But do you realize the door has been open all along and you can walk right out. You don't have to live your life with such fear. What are you so afraid of?

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

know how much money I make in a year? 23,000 when I am in a good year.. Wife is dying of cancer. Cant afford healthcare, cant qualify for state or federal assistance. Fantasy land is all I have left.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Well, then join with us man. We're fighting for you. I'm not kidding. You don't have to resort to the fantasyland they provide on TV. There's a real world out here and we're rebuilding this nation. Strength.

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

So the family starves while "I go play on the street?"

No.. I am doing what Ican from here.. you see..

We have to teach everyone to unite.. how do you do that without first clearing out the divirsity?

Its best that I am that instigator of thought that everyone can rally against, thus uniting all.

LMAO.. whatever...

Sometimes all I need is a valium and a shot of whiskey..

wait.. that would feed big pharma and coors.. no.. guess I btter go chew on the bark from the tree outside.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

It's going to get better. You can feel it. Can tell you that the peaceful loving vibe in the park is beginning to spread around the country at general assemblies and occupations across the nation.

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

maybe

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

So I work my ass off, and keep pushing, it is the only way to keep putting food on the table.

It is truly incredible. The movement is at a crucial juncture right now and needs your solidarity. Please read and spread this link this morning far and wide. Mayor BLOOMBERG is about to attempt to evict our brothers and sisters from Zuccotti Park AS THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING. Here's how we win non-violently. BIGTIME: http://occupywallst.org/forum/this-morning-is-one-of-those-defining-moments-and-/ This is how we win!

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

Hard working people take care of those trees, that sod.. to watch all there hard work go down the drain by people not respecting the earth..

[-] 1 points by boxertoby (27) from Nutley, NJ 13 years ago

There is no sod. It's not the kind of park you're thinking of. It's an urban park. All stone and concrete with some raised circle areas that have plants in them. Mostly stone and concrete though. No grass whatsoever.

[-] 1 points by RetardedProtestor (261) 13 years ago

what kind of park is that??

no grass? no weeds? no place to take my dog to to take a dump?

I think we should move it down to Central park.. getting to concrete phobic here

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Having our feet on the ground, metaphorically speaking, is actually one of the most important things we can do. It is truly incredible. You are right, now is the time. What happens today will determine the future. The population-at-large is beginning to see the light, as a more diverse following is growing with the movement.

[-] 1 points by iden (4) 13 years ago

well said. how big do we have to get before we start talking concrete policy ideas? probably not just yet but pretty darn soon methinks.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Yup. Pretty damn soon. National assembly will get rolling. I agree with others who say it should come from a solid process where everyone feels ownership. Doesn't mean we can't discuss the demands and tactics in the meantime though :)

[-] 1 points by iden (4) 13 years ago

yes yes yes of course. all respectful speech is relevant. there is also a thread on here somewhere with a list of demands to be voted on. i'm gonna find it again. i've seen it on the http://occupyphiladelphialegislature.blogspot.com/2011/10/occupy-wall-street-official-demands.html but i'd like to find it here too.

The book After Capitalism, by David Schweickart, outlines capitalism as an economic model and proposes an alternative economic model: Economic Democracy. It is the answer to "what is the alternative then?" It is sound and possible. The movement of Occupy Wallstreet should adopt this theory as their guide and unite themselves under one movement and goal to end global hegemony and replace the corrupt exploitative capitalist regime with a new market based on humanistic, democratic principles.

[-] 1 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Man, on the face of it, the goals you mention sound fantastic. Has this book been widely read or is it just emerging on the scene? Is it academic or highly readable (not that that matters but just curious)?

They are part of this forum as well and are reading everything. Our conduct here is just as important as our conduct out there.

Great point Tony!

[-] 1 points by anotherone773 (734) from Carlyle, IL 13 years ago

I agree, if you handle this properly, you are going to draw supporters. But if you guys turn violent or get stupid you are probably going to lose a few supporters. So it is important you stay cool.

Properly done is should be a win/win. It is going to get attention and make Bloomberg look bad.

PS - Nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come. The goals/demands will soon be very important. However, right now the goals/demands are just details. The idea whose time has come is the recognition that we have more in common than we think. We must focus on and nurture that revelation. Once that penetrates our consciousness collectively, we will find our voice...and we will sing. Oh how we'll sing.
