We suffer from the two party system. A new congress is allowed to unmake/rewrite the rules/laws set from a prior congress. Which is a good thing if we have multiple parties, but with the 2 parties, we go back and forth and don't get anywhere. I hope the OWS movement moves our country in direction of more parties, and leads to changes that will make it easier for 3rd party candidates to run - and ultimately to a 3rd party (and more). A two-party system is part of the problem. A solution... is OWS. Occupy Congress... PLEASE!
i love this country, but when will the government actually work for the people? that it was supposed to protect, the people that it is supposed to work for?
Congress is bicameral in that there's the Senate and the House. Third parties could always make it harder for needed majorities to happen on votes, but that which does pass will likely do so without as much partisan politics - and perhaps with more reason, and less vote buying. Just think, with 3 parties, those lobbying for action would have to buy off 2 parties, not just one - that would cost more --- oh, maybe that's why we have a 2-party system!
i used the wrong your, it's your, sorry for the grammar error
wait, why do i consider myself one of you already..... i was a little skeptical at first, but now, i know that you're cause is good, just so long as you guys don't start a revolution before i can find a place for refuge.....
or... since congress is supposed to be bicameral, we should just become one of the branches of the democratic party..... at least, we can still be a third party... but we'd probably need a branch, to branch off of
