Forum Post: Things That Need To Happen: What Do WE WANT?

Everyone seems to have their own opinion of what exactly is wrong, and we all agree the system is broke and needs fixing...

But what exactly is wrong and how do we solve it?

What idea or proposal could fix all (or 99%) of our problems with what has been going on in Washington...? And particularly with the corporate power grab that has occurred...?

I personally feel the problem is two-fold:

First, we have a federal government that has become so large and so involved in so many different aspects of our lives that (1) it is out of control and prompting outrageous abuses; (2) its costing a fortune and paying for it is bankrupting our nation; and (3) the politicians are too scared to fix it because of corporate influence, interest groups and fear that they'll lose their next election...

Second, with such a large government involved in so many subjects the corporations are of course interested in promoting their own financial health and agendas. Who can blame them? The problem is normal people can't afford to pick Congress' ear when these wealthy corporations are all over them for favors, with their opinions and suggestions and whatever... It just builds from there...
