Why isn't there a cap on interest rates that banks can charge consumers for car loans and credit cards? If they borrow from the FED for 1/4%, is it fair or decent for them to loan it out on credit cards for 30%? or even 15% for a used car? Why not cap it at 5% and maybe have it go as low as 2% for those with excellent credit? This is one way banks really stick it to working class people. Exorbitant interest charges.
Why do all loans have to have front loaded interest? Wouldn't it be more fair if the interest you paid on your house or car was divided equally among the payments, so that if you wanted to sell or refinance , you could actually have some equity?
Why don't we scrap all trade deals and institue a world trade deal that says any country we trade with must offer it's workers the exact same benefits and requirements that would be required by law by their American counterparts? You know, things like overtime, sick leave, safe working conditions, etc. etc. This is the only way to protect workers worldwide from the unbridled corporate greed that runs Wall Street.
Why don't we pass real and meaningful campaign finance reform so that wall street will quit hijacking our government? How bout capping it at $1000 for all entities, human or corporate.
We need a government run healthcare system in America. The way I see it, you have two options when it comes to healthcare. Either quit treating people who show up at the E.R. without insurance(let them die), or institute a plan to cover everyone in America and pay for it with a national tax. The privatized insurance system we have nowadays is completely broken and punishes unfairly , those of us who must pay ever higher premiums for ever diminishing coverage.
And to further expand on this list:
Why don't repeal the bankruptcy laws that Bush got passed a few years ago. The corporations pushed for reform so that they could squeeze consumers more and more. The system worked great for the working class people. There was no need to change it, except for Wall STreet.
We need to reinstitute the Glass-Steagall act to prevent financial collapses like 2008 from happening again.
We need to hold to account, all those big bank executives who knowingly sold and traded derivatives. Ordinary people go to jail for much less. These guys wrecked the entire world economy and got big bonuses courtesy of the taxpayers.
Higher educations should be 100% paid for by the taxpayers, just like kindergarten thru 12th grade is. The student loan debt levels today are ridiculous and to add insult to injury, most of these kids can't get a decent enough job to live on , much less pay back 6 figures of student loan debt. Immediate forgiveness of all student loan debt.
Uncontrolled immigration is ruining this country. Resources are finite and we simply must look out for those who are here legally. No free health care for illegals, no government assistance , no free education and most importantly, companies who knowingly hire illegals should prosecuted so severely that they will simply not do it for fear of going bankrupt. When companies learn to pay a living wage for the jobs they want done, American citizens will be happy to take those jobs again.

It is the politician that passed laws on all of this... the problem is that politician have a vested interest in it being the way it is.... that's the real reason why... Greed is the natural byproduct of opportunity... given the right opportunity and almost anyone will seem greedy... I say seem...one persons terrorist is another freedom fighter.... there are a large number of the 99% that would appear to be greedy to other members of the 99%.... Have you ever gone to a two for one sale and stocked up?... We just aren't the targets today..
Everything you're talking about is addressed by the CFPB, right? And/Or Dodd-Frank. I know the republicans are trying to water it all down, and not so unsuccessfully either, but... Plus Obama did throw Elizabeth Warren under the bus... but still. Isn't all this stuff under the purview of the CFPB?
