"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it."

At last count, there were 245 millionaires in congress, including 66 in the Senate.

Just because we are paranoid, does not mean they are not out to get us!
A million bucks isn't really much. I'm sure just off one's Congressional salary one can easily become a millionaire after a few years. That doesn't say much of anything.
"A million bucks isn't really much." lol... Yeah we should all have one huh? Maybe everyone else is just lazy...
Not lazy, but you're looking at it from a very narrow view. In the global view, a million dollars is not much.
Ok - granted but I am sure many have more than a million. It is just one more piece of information showing how monied interests control our government.
Because members of Congress have a million dollars? I'm not sure about that, I make 38K a year in wages and since the crash I've managed to make it halfway to a million by investing. And I have nothing to do with Wall Street or politics or anything. Again, a million dollars doesn't mean anyone is in any pockets. Now if you told me that members of Congress had received fifty million or something in campaign donations, then you might have something. But the fact that the personal net worth of most congressmen is a million dollars, doesn't really mean much of anything.
55 have an average calculated wealth in 2009 of $10 million or more, with eight in the $100 million-plus range.
Few federal lawmakers have to grapple with the financial ills -- unemployment, loss of housing, wiped out savings -- that have befallen millions of Americans.
What do the wealthy know about war. I didn't see them fighting with me in the marine corps. They know how to get people sent but not fight
It is class warfare. The upper class has been waging guerilla warfare against the masses, systematically eroding our rights and muting our voices. It's hit-and-run, taking place in closed-door meetings and hurry-up voting sessions.
Yes - the 1% started a Class War the 99% will finish it!
Like a Super Committee making policy behind closed doors because we all know they are going to propose legislation that screws the Middle-Class!

What I can't stand is when people see the problem, yet come down on those who are trying to address it or bring more attention to the corrupt culture of DC. Unfortunately, I don't think anything will change unless the movement gets focused and moves in on DC. If you don't go after the power structure that created this problem and only continue to address the symptoms rather than the cause, nothing will change. Why would DC enact campaign finance laws when no one seems to be targeting them. the TEA Party (love them or hate them), got results from the voting booth by taking their anger to the Congress, where it belongs.
