one of the pople studied the menu -

"The hamburger is made of atoms
The flounder is made of atoms
The pork chops are made of atoms
The lobster is made of atoms
Gee!
I can't make up my mind - they are all the same!
There is no difference!"

Go look in the refrigerator. There's a rotting apple in one drawer and a rotting orange in the other. They both need to be thrown out, not because they are the same, but because they're both rotten.

The same with our two party political system. Even though the two parties are different, both are corrupt and need to be thrown away.

You know you can't call both parties corrupt without calling those who voted for them in the first place corrupt also. If Americans have a tendency to elect corrupted officials then someone has to ask, are not the voters corrupt also?

It is refreshing to see the nation stand up to our culture, bet the truth is people get the government they deserve, and when you live in a nation that is obsessed with stature and wealth, it shouldn't be surprising that our politicians act the same.

The government officials covet what the electorate holds dear.

How can a society that embraces Capitalism call what the Capitalists deem law corruption? Capitalism by its nature is dog eat dog so why should the government be any different? You embrace a pyramid shaped social economic structure but call the law givers at the top corrupted? That makes no sense. It's as if you want to blame the government for a system that you endorse, IE capitalism.

EDIT: Ain't it about time we think about buying a new refrigerator?

Capitalism isn't the cause any more than Democracy is. The problem is the people who by their lack of selflessness, by their lack of knowledge, and by their lack of courage cooperate with and allow tyranny to prosper within the intertwined vine of Democracy and Capitalism.

And denial Ain't just a river in Egypt.

Capitalism is about competition. Why are you getting mad that others have out competed you? And, on top of that, who are you to judge the actions of those who out competed you?

Our system has always been ruled by those who did well in the private sector? From Jamie Dimon to Rockefeller, those are inevitably the leaders of our system, the president is just the spokes person.

You can't defuse Capitalism and politics, it is an idiotic concept. I get the impression that you believe capitalism was corrupted. but the fact that those with the capital are so intertwined with government, they are both just mirror images of each other. Our government is corrupted because our capitalists are corrupt. Are capitalists our corrupt because they don't want to starve, or to use the euphemism of capitalism, to be out competed.

We are capitalistic because our government has decreed it. The government has decreed it because the Capitalist has said it is so.

The bankers did not break the law because they right the laws.

They are the chieftons because they won the competition; therefore, The people get the government they deserve. You deserve it because you rally for a system that allows it.

I don't buy the argument that capitalism has been hijacked. I believe the current power structure is capitalism with no check, or the logical conclusion to a system that is based on competition, individual expropriation and exploitation.

Capitalism has become corrupted because the people have allowed it. The same rotten apples and the same rotten oranges are picked decade after decade from the same diseased trees. Until we pick from a healthy tree, the result will be the same, no matter which system the fruit is stored in.

Well over 90% of the people will vote for the same rotten fruit this election. Occupy has clearly pointed out the worms and mold, but they still refuse to inspect them.

Thank you ericweiss for posting such a fabulous and applicable example of flawed logic and failed reasoning skills.

It made you laugh ZenDog..but will it make you REALIZE??? One can always hope....

[-] 1 points by BetsyRoss (-744) 12 years ago

Hummmmmm....still no comments on the bold logic displayed here? Odd.

I don't know... did anyone proffer the logic that the hot air emanating from his mouth was also made of atoms? And that it was therefore of no difference, either?

If you do think they are all the same, just think one word when you go to vote
