I was 22 years old when Nixon was first elected president. Republicans admitted he wasn’t ideal but since he’d be surrounded by “hard-headed businessmen” it would be all right. They’ve said that again about Reagan, Bush II and Trump. And they have been right for the oligarch billionaires, CEOs, banksters and up to 10% more of the population who are sycophants, wannabes and climbers. Of the other 90% of us about half are so foolish they can’t see they’ve been had. Some of them waiver between thralldom and awareness. The latter are the swing voters that, together with the elites and the morons, allow conservatives to win elections.
Did you know that freedom of information law required the release of records showing that the Reagan campaign was in contact with the Iranian goivernment while they were holding the American hostages in 1980?
I didn't know or didn't remember that but I'm not surprised. Reagan was almost as treacherous as Trump is today.
I came to this site around 14 years ago to express the opinion that it was time for the GOP to die. That position was not well received especially when HRC got the nomination, I hope that those that are here see the danger now and are perhaps more willing to focus on fighting the actual enemy instead of tearing down the democratic party regardless of it's flaws.
