If you cut through the crazy zealots, the publicity mongers and the just plain ole people who really have no clue as to what they're saying, OWS is comprised of a mass of people who love their country and feel that it has been hijacked by Cooperate America and the rest of the 1%. To make matters worse the system in which We as a People put our faith in to protect our liberties and freedoms has become so gridlocked and corrupt that no real change has occurred. Forget party politics of why no action has been taken. We can all agree that cooperate influence on government has led us to this depression (let us speak honestly) that we are in today. The whole purpose (correct me if I'm wrong) of OWS is to express this emotion that is being felt not only here in America, but all over the world; with the protests of the Arab Spring, Greece, London and Spain. Well congratulations! We as a People have achieved that goal. THE WORLD IS LISTENING. What will you tell them? That you want nothing? That we will not stoop to the level of negotiating with those 1% pricks? That we will wait for demands to come about naturally? Well they have. They have been outlined in the form of a declaration. A date has been set to discuss them democratically. Don't like them? Well you have couple of months to prepare your own response, to draft your own resolution to bring to the forefront. I challenge you all to read the 99% declaration. To introduce it in the next general assembly. To vote to accept it as official demands of the OWS movement. The world is waiting. Do not let time make OWS a simple sound bite in American culture. Let it be that great moment in history that it was destined to be. The world is watching. What will you show them?
hard block. we can't wait for 2014 to start a new political party. one of the stupidest aspects of making mere demands and issuing greivances is that the oligarchs truly do not care what we say or think.
the only way to deal with them is to remove all of them- completely and absolutely- from power- immediately.
until the language of the declaration reflects this intention, it is merely unfortunately kicking the can down the road 3 years.
Further, and more importantly, this does not provide for direct representation or direct democracy, leaves the lobbying system intact, and takes no responsibility for we the people to work the problems or solve them or to write new laws.
If you give your power over to oligarchs on any of these levels they will just shaft you with a jackhammer and use your carcass as a bear rug.
you can't make demands or list greivances to the oligarchs and expect anything. its already 2014; and they didn't actually do a dang thing about our list. get lucid. they won't. To them this is a war, and to them they are winning.
you might as well have been Europe sending a letter to hitler. "we demand that you go home and leave us alone." Er. What part of this in game terms do you not understand?
The germans are coming. they intend to kill and conquer and the only thing that will stop them is stopping them.
You aren't going to talk them out of it.
We are just waking up to the fact that they have waged a war against us. Naively we imagine they just don't understand or that all it will take is pointing the truth out to them. no. They already know. They did all this on purpose and its 1000 times worse and deeper and more evil and shadier than most people can even imagine.
It time NOW for a third party and time NOW for an article 5 convention.
