Very funny man. Maybe it is not "End". Maybe it's 'shift'. I hope so.
The Mayans said the Calendar would end. They were Sunworshipers.
The Sun did something in the sky it never does at any other time, making a loss of timekeeping for a period. A new calendar needed to be started.
Rabbinical oral histories say, "When the sun is in the sky and it goes to the north, the end is near. When the Sun rises in the west, the end is here." Many other cultures have record of the Sun rising in the West.
But there definitely appears to be a psychological effect too.
The result is that everyon huddles around the fire with family in terror/joy(?) about a week before what we call "New Year". A very impossible personages (erroneus) birthday was used to provide explanation for the global event at that time.
Epigenetics and genetic memory have a built in brain fart for the species well conditioned into our responses.
The general question is: why do some prophecies come true?
There are two options: it is mere coincidence or the universe is programmed.
I have found evidence for the latter. A few examples:
Killed by synchronicity
In Monza, Italy, king Umberto I went to a small restaurant for dinner, accompanied by his aide-de-camp General Emilio Ponzia-Vaglia. When the owner took King Umberto's order, the king noticed that he and the restaurant owner were virtual doubles in face and in build. Both men began discussing the striking resemblances between each other and found more similarities.
Both men were born on the same day of the same year, March 14th, 1844. Both men had been born in Turin. Both men married on the same date with a woman named Margherita. The restaurant owner opened his restaurant on the same day king Umberto was crowned king of Italy. On the 29th July 1900, king Umberto was informed that the restaurant owner had died that day in a mysterious shooting accident. As he expressed his regret, king Umberto was assassinated by an anarchist in the crowd.
Titanic predicted
Morgan Robertson wrote the novel Futility in 1898. It described the maiden voyage of a transatlantic luxury liner named the Titan. Although it was touted as being unsinkable, it struck an iceberg and sank with much loss of life. In 1912 the Titanic, a transatlantic luxury liner widely touted as unsinkable struck an iceberg and sank with great loss of life on her maiden voyage. In the Book, the Month of the Wreck was April, same as in the real event.
A few months after the Titanic sank, a tramp steamer was traveling through the foggy Atlantic with only a young boy on watch. It came into his head that it had been thereabouts that the Titanic had sunk and he was suddenly terrified by the thought of the name of his ship the Titanian. Panic-stricken, he sounded a warning. The ship stopped just in time. A huge iceberg loomed out of the fog directly in their path. The Titanian was saved.
September 11, The Matrix
Another coincidence referring to September 11 can be found in the film The Matrix which was made in 1999. About 17 minutes into the film, a file folder is shown containing an image of the passport of the main character Neo. The expiry date of the passport is September 11, 2001. This is remarkable considering the fact that the coincidences surrounding September 11 demonstrate that we live in a virtual reality similar to The Matrix.
