Donald Sadoway is working on a battery miracle -- an inexpensive, incredibly efficient, three-layered battery using “liquid metal."

I didn't realize it also provides a solution to the rare earths issue.

I can't think of single reason these aren't up and running today.

The fossil fuel industry is the reason. This is why I have repeatedly said not to give up on nuclear energy. Yes we need to shut down the current plants using 60's tech but the newer generations of nuclear can solve the energy issues. And it will be even better as we fund more research.

Current levels of funding for science has actual scientists moving to other, more friendly countries, while school boards try and inject creationism into science teaching curriculum's....

So how's that supposed to work?

[-] 2 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

It Dumbs down the populace. Christian conservatives have noticed that the more we learn about the world the less people believe in the Bible. They can't accept that so they try to undercut science and education.

Don't forget cutting back on regulators.

Now that Colorado is flooded, we get to find out they have exactly 18 regulators to look into some 50,000 wells of various sorts.

And you know the bagge(R)s figure that just too darn many regulators.

Where's the invisible hand when you need it?

Making plans to raise fuel prices in the area, you can bet.

[-] 2 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Don't you know that is part of the plan. Understaffed regulators and when they can't do their job they say regulations don't work.

The invisible hand stole my homework?

if people choose their own insurance

that means the government is only responsible for giving the people some money

instead of be responsible for providing for the health of the people

I think the invisible hand might have stolen your keyboard.

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 11 years ago

I was logged out recently for some reason

I think some one added the President's name to my no war post

and perhaps log me out be working from a different ip

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

So the invisible hand stole your IP and gave you Obama?

Don't tell the Alex Jones crowd, or we'll never hear the end of it.

[-] 1 points by NVPHIL (664) 11 years ago

Why doesn't the invisible hand ever do anything useful? Like smacking the bastards over the head.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Apparently, that's not part of it's job description.

Smacking us, however is very much part of what it does

That pretty much sums it up

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I can't think of single reason these aren't up and running today.

Total insanity - is the only thing that comes to mind.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

There seems to be an epidemic of that going around these days.

Because it would cut into the profits.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

There will still be profits, it's a question of who they will go to.
