Seriously, what percentage of the so-called 99% are actually engaged in this 'movement'?
If you dont feel you're being heard, then do something! Im trying to get some research done for an academic paper for college. Please fill out my survey its about 5 minutes to do. http://owsresearch.surveyanalytics.com
Yes join us, as you say you are part of the 99%. I only speak for myself, and I can say I´m learning a lot here. (and other places because I´m involved with questions that I believe matter) I see the movement more as a time to think about the actual situation and raise questions. Questions that should lead to anwers and action plans maybe. (some call it a sort of awakening, less tv, more discussions)
...And who, pray tell do you speak for?

What happened to that "One Demand"
See what I mean? This 'movement' is already subverted. There is no way TPTB are going to entertain a laundry list of unrealistic demands. But maybe we could actually get one through to start with
Well I'm not begging for donations, or some pie-in-the-sky retarded Utopian demands. I'd be happy with 'One Demand'. Remember that concept?
They can entertain them or not.
We are not going away and we are not backing down and by god we will get every item on that 'laundry list'.
One demand is not enough, was never enough... And I never consented to settle for anything so ineffectual.
What it looks like to me is that the thing is being hijacked by people who made up a long list of unrealistic demands in order to make the movement look like kooks. It's working unfortunately. You have to admit that is a major change between one demand nd the numerous lists floating around now.
I understand and respect that sentiment.
What is YOUR 'one demand'?
Removal of dubious corporate influence from our Gov't/legislative processes /lobbying reform (if that couints as one)
That way the citizens can actually pass the laws they voted for or endorsed, not be overridden by the highest bidders. I feel that would tilt the scales towards balance the most.
If enough of us just agreed not to vote for the candidate in any race who got the most from the mega-donors, we could undermine the 1%'s political base.
If just a few races were changed by this, it could start a real shift in the balance of power.
I'm thinking of it as "vote away Wall Street".
I fully agree that removal of money from politics is the top priority.
Boy, are you missing the point! Entirely!
Engage yourself...your voice counts!
They certainly don't speak for me.
About 1%
The biggest parts of what I see is more-less a scam for donations, webpage & youtube views.
I believe in the 99% (because I am one of them) but I don't believe 99% of the crap I've been reading.
