Forum Post: The Separation of Corporation and State

Secularism is now the norm. Governments who don't practice the separation of church and state are looked on as backwards and in need of change. And this has been a step forward. Governments simply function better without the influence of religion and religious figures.

Now, there needs to be another step forward. There needs to be a separation of corporation and state. Over the last few decades, it has become apparent that corporations have powerful influence in the actions that governments take. We need to take out this influence just as we took out the influence of religion. A government needs to make its own decisions, without corporations (or religious leaders) breathing down the necks of policy makers. We need this new separation, and we need it soon.

Hopefully, in a few decades from now, our grandchildren will study how the separation of corporation and state was just as important as the separation of church and state.
