Big Corporate Money buys politicians who want it - to stay in office. Politicians legislate in favor of Big Corporate Money, and they make the interests of real people secondary. Politicians vote themselves oversized salaries, plush benefits, and financial security for after they leave office -- just like the Corporate Big Boys get from their boards. Politicians get theirs directly from the taxpayers; the Big Boys get theirs by overcharging in the markets for good and services that "average people" need and want -- the 99%. Or by rolling the dice in the Wall Street crap shoot with average peoples' money, directly or not, and being "insured" with taxpayer funds by the political class if they create an economy-crashing fiasco. And the Big Money cycle self-perpetuates through the political cycle and reinforces itself, even getting affirmed by Supreme Court, Inc. which opens the gates wide to more corporate money in politics.
