Its not about political parties its about campaign contributions given to politicians. They are legal bribes are politicians are for sale to the highest bidder. Politicians need to make decisions based off whats best for the people not whats best for those lining there pockets. I bet the same puppeteers are pulling the strings for both sides.
Now you must ask how can we stop this?
winklewankle, why put money rather than voice... money is vastly unevenly distributed, our voice, our vote, is spread evenly.
this is the one unifying issue. corporate lobbyists benefit perhaps one in 1,000 Americans.
let's settle all the other issues through a democratic process freed from lobbyist's interests, i.e. one person, one vote
"What's best for the people" is somewhat difficult to define and changes through the passage of time. In theory, that's what principled politicians are for, but those kinds of politicians rarely can get their political machine going without contributions from Labor, Lobbyists, or other forms of contribution. What we can do as individuals is put our money where our mouth is and support (monetarily) candidates who best espouse your personal beliefs.
