Forum Post: The reaction of OWS to what's going on in Oakland will be what determines the outcome of OWS. If Oakland falls by lack of support, then all other cities will be next.

Because of Oakland's history regarding protesters and violent police confrontations, (confrontations that have historically and inaccurately been painted as violent urban riots), the police crack down using violent tactics will more than likely be perceived as justifiable. A perception that will allow the same violent crack downs to more easily occur in other less urban areas.
Unless there is a massive showing of non-violent support for those protestors that were gassed and beaten in Oakland, the OWS movement will have been successfully divided, and will be easily conquered.
There needs to be a direct action by the people in Oakland. We can give moral support but only local action will affect the actions of the Mayor. Time for Oakland to develop Boycotts...credit card purchases etc...
i tried to call the Mayors office.. Ans. Box is 'Filled'.. i cant even get thru for an interview.
Solution #1... We need to Educate the Public, with the ear of the Individual Police at hand ..( pardon the pun)... and call out the 'Outrage' that got this Started in the First place... EDUCATE... is the First Solution.. Tell them why we are Supporting one another... THEY (Police) included!

When you read it, it will open your eyes as to how long this Outrage has been Seething . Those that Stole the 'Economic Wealth' right out from under us.. first began in the 'Market'.. it is HOW they got their Greedy Grip on the Middle Class.. and Squeezed 60% of us out of the equation.. by GRAFT and Collusion..and a 'Blind Eye' turned to the rules and regulations... Those in Authority now, are no longer working FOR the People, But to get any Crumb left from the 1% Pie!
The protestors of Oakland were gassed and beaten in support of a NATIONAL movement, they deserve NATIONAL support.
