The protestors are DEFENDING Capitalism, they are not enemies of it. Capitalism is a good and worthy system and the protestors live by its standard. Indeed, they are the sane element of it because they have morals and standards and know when someone has gone over the edge. Rather, the fat catters they are demanding accountablity from, these are Capitalism's true enemies, because they lessen it for us all.
Fat Cat behavior is not tolerated on a ball field, where rules and regulations preserve the integrity of the game. So, it is the same with this situation. The protestors are worthy players of a good game who are justifiably outraged by cheaters who should be suspended from playing because they have made the game look bad and expect us all to go down with them.
Then the companies will just rape us harder.....Do you not understand?
Sounds easy ... the monetary system might be hard to repair
True free market capitalism instead of crony capitalism. True free markets, no bailouts, no corporate welfare, no over-bloated government & miliatry contracts. That is what will work.
Capitalism (at least in its present form) will destroy itself as class consciousness continues to be spread via this movement. We need to provide a model for what the future of this country will look like...which is why ownership of the park is integral.
-TAKE THE PARK
Capitalism does not exist in America. We have a private central bank that prints money and gives it to the owners of the central bank. The Federal Reserve is not a federal body. It is privately owned by primarily European financiers. This is not capitalism.
That is too capitalism, capitalism is broad... Study capitalism....
I prefer to call it kleptocratic oligarchy.
Whatever floats your boat.
Hell yeah!!!
Amen
You want some regulations or don't want any rules what so ever ? So everybody can do whatever they want ? If you want some rules, Who will write those rules ?
I am not against some regulation enacted by Congress. We also have a court system where disputes are mediated and decisions become binding
But what we have now is a rigged system where some capitalists are more equal than others.
Representative democracy can always be bought by moneyed interest, as the power of country(vote power) in concentrated in the hands of few senators/congressmen. Now you tell me who should write the rules/regulations ? You still want the congress to write the rules as they wish ?
Current court system is ok, but has a lot of room for improvement.
Speaking of the Senate, I think 2 senators per state needs to be changed, all representation should be based on population. A few hundred thousand Wyoming residents really should not have 2 senators who can influence policy & force their will on the 19 million residents of New York.
Reps shouldn't be writing rules "as they wish" they should be reflecting the wishes of their constituents - all their constituents.
Money needs to be out of influencing govt. Limits on lobbyists & election reform are some of the things being discussed now by Occupy Wall Street.
You sound like you have your own alternative in mind - why don't you share? I feel like I'm being interogated at this point.
The 2 senator rule was designed to get small states to join the union. There would be no advantage otherwise; they would loose their state sovereignty. But the original purpose of the union--the federal gov't--was to protect the states from foreign invasion. Unfortunately, the feds have taken over the role of the states, without giving people a democratic vote in these policies. We have democracy in the states. The federal gov't is not a democracy and that's why we shouldn't be paying a federal income tax, because we are not represented democratically. Let the states tax and take care of the disadvantaged. At least the people will be able to vote on the programs.
Let the senators and congressmen propose the rules, but they will not make a decision. The people will vote for it on the web, smartphone or telephone. If it gets 51% vote, the bill is passed. If there are 51% votes against the bill, the bill is trashed.
