The 1% are better at framing the issues by the use of emotional language than the rest of us. The truth doesn't change many minds because the labeling gets there first and has a life of its own.

We need better tactics, to see them before they happen. I guess "the 53%" is the new republican meme. I'm hoping their campaign turns against them.

Using words such as 'lazy' is a very efficient method to evoke emotion and concurrently place a barrier between any meaningful exchange of ideas. Other terms that do this include: liberal, terrorist, communist, hippie, right-winged, socialism, etc.

laissez-faire Look up laissez-faire at Dictionary.com 1825, also laissez faire, French, lit. "let (people) do (as they think best)," from laissez, imperative of laisser "to let" + faire "to do" (from L. facere; see factitious). From the phrase laissez faire et laissez passer, motto of certain 18c. French economists, chosen to express the ideal of government non-interference in business and industry.

It's a tremendous absurd to say that all unemployed people are lazy. Incredibly, some people say that...

It is used to demonize one's opponents.

Some questions emerge:

  • What is laziness?

  • Who are the real lazy?

  • Is laziness always bad? If there was no laziness, would technology exist? If there was no laziness, would someone have invented the wheel to reduce the effort of pulling heavy stuff?
