I have seen things that have disturbed me and turned me off from OWS such as:
the work stoppage at the Port of Oakland which impacted the worker's pay. they only get paid if they work.
the blocking of the Brooklyn Bridge which stopped workers from getting over a bridge to their job
the blockage of bank offices which led to another work stoppage for the common worker at these banks
the negative impact on local business where as a result numerous employees were laid off. windows were smashed, etc.
OWS will rise and fall under its own weight, but I do ask that you assemble peacefully which includes allowing myself to go to and from the place where I work. Please do not block the entrance or exits...please do not stop the businesses from operating. All you do is anger and piss off average working people when you do such things.
Mayor Bloomberg isnt angry at your message, but is angry at how you are conducting yourselves. Your actions are victimizing innocent people and it is not fair that you FORCE your vision down upon others. People will either accept or reject your vision. Please let them choose, but do not force it down upon them. You are using force and are no different then the leaders in Egypt or other such places.
they either accept our vision, or they will have to fight us
Agreed. Occupation should not interfere with other people making their living. We already have the world's attention. Now people just want to here what we have to say.
