Until we get money out of politics this will continue.
In some cases it has nothing to do with contributions, there are no laws preventing legislators from engaging in what would be insider trading for you or I.
Well, if the government was truly representing the people and not the wealthy and corporations those insider trading laws would be changed, right?
Of course, but people in general seem more interested in arguing about gay marriage or the Kardashians then holding Congress accountable. There are too many things, no one is focused on, or can even agree on what is important. I think Occupy has fallen into the same trap, too many causes.
Some guy posted on here a while ago, it's not Orwell's 1984, it's Huxley's Brave New World that we've fallen into. We have too much information and little of it is worth anything.
I agree that we need to whittle down the big issues.
Hard as that might be it looks to me like it's easier then getting agreement on what to actually do to fix a problem once you've managed to agree on which problem is the most serious.
