Using the 99% phrase distorts the issues, it makes it an attack on all rich people, therefore scaring most average working Americans, since the American dream is about being modestly rich--without this dream, there is no America...Keep it focused on Corporate Corruption and Control over our Gov't ----This is the message that needs to be spread!!!! Attacking all corporations is going to get nowhere----BE SPECIFIC---GOLDMAN SACHS helped Greece cook their books to get into the EU.....NOW we face another economic catastrophe at the hands of Bank Corps like GOLDMAN SACHS with the EU debt crisis while they make record profits and after they received the biggest taxpayer handout in US history----And Treasury Secretary Geithner backs them up!!!! The problem is Corporate Control over our Gov't!!!! The protests in Wall St must be connected with the protests in DC!!!! I'm sorry if this sounds like a lecture or maybe you're already working this out, but I'm a working American on the West Coast yet support what you all are doing 100% Keep if Peaceful and speak with unity and Cohesion and more average middle aged Americans will join your ranks!!! Beware of the Unions, for they are corrupt at the top too, making political donations and your message is in danger of being hijacked and labeled SOCIALISM!!!!!! Also, without specifics, you're voice and purpose is being lost to the media as a whole---You have more support than what is in the streets, Americans and people worldwide support what you're doing!!!! Bless you all and POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with some of what you say, especially about being hijacked and being labeled. Fox news is already throwing around labels and falsehoods(no surprise to many of us, but lots of people get their news there). You may also be correct about "without this dream, there is no America". The American dream is a farce set up by the 1% to keep their taxes low because everyone hopes they will be rich and won't want to be taxed when that happens. Listen to George Carlin's last line(link below).

Its hard to be specific when LOTS of corporations/CEOs are fuc*ing the rest of us. Some examples:

GE making $14B in profits and the US owing them $3B in tax credits. This does not happen on its own. The mega corporations get so big they pour money into politics(our elected to represent us officials) so they can get a tax break, or an environmental waver, and make more money(which the worker never sees).

US CEO pay to worker pay ratio of 475:1-- do you really think that the ceo's are 475 times harder workers and 475 times more talented than the average worker in their company? I don't think so. This is also at the same time the worker's health care costs are going up, their benefits are being cut, and their hours are getting longer(if salaried) or shorter(if hourly).

Sorry, I hope the average worker joins in, but the corporations need to pay taxes, be accountable, and stay out of politics.

Value Investing Congress David Einhorn, Greenlight Capital, “Liquor before Beer… In the Clear” October 19, 2009:

....The second weakness in our government is "concentrated benefit versus diffuse harm" also known as the problem of special interests. Decision makers help small groups who care about narrow issues and whose "special interests" invest substantial resources to be better heard through lobbying, public relations and campaign support. The special interests benefit while the associated costs and consequences are spread broadly through the rest of the population. With individuals bearing a comparatively small extra burden, they are less motivated or able to fight in Washington.

but then you have to ask where do we stop? when do we say that most of the corruption is gone? who decides when to stop crashing the world economy and starts talking about re-building a better one? taking out the 1% wont solve any problems. taking there power over us and the government away is the necessary action that needs to be taken. that power is money. if you cut off the head 3 more will grow back but if we cut the root we can change the world for the people. alot of people hate the 1% percent because they envy the lifestyle or power or want to emulate the image of that type of success. by taking money out of the world we all become equal, just people as we are. the social status will then turn to the educators and innovators, im talking about re-empowering knowlege as the height of social success and our posterity will follow suit. this is the only way. nobody can control the greed created by the monetary system regardless of regulations, giving people the abilty to create worthless documents and give them value in itself is unconstitutional. the federal reservere even existing is unconstitutional.
