I fall into the range of making $35000 a year which according to this group makes me one of the 99% The problem is I am not. I in no way endorse what is being done and quite frankly as a working middle class citzen can not see why anyone especially with self pride would participate in such a foolish event. i can see if your angry since there are minimal jobs but that just means everyone in NY is either stupid or has no clue about economics. If your angry your voice should be pointed at the White House, at Obama, at Congress. thats where the jobs come from not wall street. Wall street is where money from jobs and people is invested. Your anger is understandable but completely lost in its direction. To those who want college reimbursement sorry there is no fairy tail land. You picked your studies you freely went to class and thats your free will decisions to even suggest it I have to laugh and understand thats why you don't have a job as it makes you sound like a nut. I was a victim of the housing crash. i was a construction worker. I went from working 80 hours a week with more work then I could handle to jobless. I didnt whine or cry. I taught myself a new trade and now I build websites and do electronic repair and resale. It is no one but our own responsibility to find work and if it is not there make your own work and be paid for what your worth. i know many people go to college just to go and get degrees in arts and other subjects they know very few jobs will be there thats a choice you made. Don't sit an blame people who figured out how to succeeed and feel scared or pitty for yourself. get out there and take a living earn it. Your anger now is to the man who is killing jobs for fun and at will Obama....If your going to protest at least know how to direct it with sense. Don't ask for college forgivness if you went then you pay. I didnt go since I couldnt afford it and I knew it would not be my greatest asset as that would be my own pride and will to do whatever it takes to house my family and to feed them. Protest Unions who hurt the working class. Boycott Obama who destroys jobs, boycott the loons who ask for free handouts and then you might get attention for being reasonable and not crazy.... I fit your classification but I am not one of you so your percentage is incorrect as many like me are not with you.. I earn my life and no one can stop me from doing that......

Look I get the pride you have in your diligence and hard work. I get taking responsibility for your life. But people are ripping you off, and they won't stop because you lead a decent life.

Wall street as a use. Ensuring liquidity for emerging and expanding businesses is a legitimate part of the economic system. Few people are questioning that. But it's gone completely out of control now. It's business is in creating artificial wealth by elaborate number games, accounting tricks and gambling. And when that inevitably crashes, those that played the system keep the artificial wealth while the rest of society tanks the debt.

Succeeding for yourself is awesome. But capitalism, or, more properly, free market economy, is not about finding ways to get rich by screwing everybody else. It's about free enterprise and rewarding contributions to society.

Look at it this way. In the last 30 years, America's GDP per capita has sky rocketed. Even with the crisis of 2008, it's still above what it was in 2006. There is more wealth per citizen in the USA than ever. But at the same time, the national deficit has equally sky rocketed. All the while, the government is constantly saying they can't afford social programs they could afford ten years ago. Do those numbers make sense to you?

The 99% means we are the part of the bottom 99% not necessarily that we represent everyone in the 99%. If you do not participate in the 99% that is your choice but your voice will not be heard either.

Also, I dont think you really know what we are about. You seem to of browsed long enough to read a few peoples complaints. But didnt get an idea of what the 99% is about.

I also think you are like we one were still. You accept how you are treated like a dog that keeps getting kicked but you also get fed too so you just accept you have to be kicked to get fed.

Also this is the day of the internet. This is day of super fast communication. We dont need to stand in Washington to be heard in Washington. We dont even need to be in NYC. A majority of OWS supporters are still within 25 miles of the place they call home when they are protesting. Some like me never leave it. We are everywhere. We cannot be silenced. There are more of us than you think. Many many more.

More Conservative trolling!!

Don't ever stop fighting for what's wrong!

Is everyone who disagrees with you a troll?

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 13 years ago

Absolutely not.. But the formula for Conservative/LibertarianTeabagger trolls posting threads is pretty simple..

  1. Sob story about all the hardships they've faced.(basically, "I'm just like you")

Followed by:

  1. A call for everyone to blame Unions/Obama/Soros/Liberals/etc..etc..etc..

If they're not trolls, what would you call them??

Realists

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 13 years ago

"Realists", huh??

Pretty sure he addressed neither Art nor Foreign Policy, but oh well, lets just throw words around.

[-] 1 points by Rael (176) 13 years ago

Are you saying you cannot be a realist in domestic policy? Did you only hear that word in college or something?

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 13 years ago

That's right.. I've already been brainwashed by liberal establishment academia (ooohhh scary!) and have yet to be awakened by either Glenn Beck's chalkboard or whatever you people are worshiping nowadays..

So just to remove all doubt that you're a moron, you are embracing the domestic policies of Realists.(Machiavelli, Stalin, etc..)

[-] 1 points by Rael (176) 13 years ago

No, I am being a realist (little r). Kind of like the difference between a democrat and a Democrat. Don't call people a moron without knowing of that which you speak.

What did he say exactly that you did not like?

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 13 years ago

I guess all the transparent and hackneyed partisan talking points that we've all heard from Tea Party (just like the ones you post everywhere) juxtaposed with my second least favorite parts which including trying to position himself as a victim of adversity that was inspired by said Tea Party nonsense to ignore the rights of workers' being taken away and appreciate the right to work at all.

[-] 1 points by Mooks (1985) 13 years ago

I bet a larger percentage of the 99% would support what he said over most of the other thoughts tossed around by OWS.

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 13 years ago

And you'd lose that bet..

Hallelujah! Actual sanity on these pages. Sorry dude, but you will NOT be taken seriously by THIS crowd. They ARE the 1% but don't know it. As former construction worker to another... good for you in standing up for right.
