During my EIB course it took me 2.5 hours to hump 12 miles, and some guys didn't make it. 20 miles a day will break you off, you guys are soft and I damn sure haven't seen any of you doing PT to train up. I am sure a few can make the hump, but your going to crush some people. In order to hit 20 miles in the time you have allotted you had better be fit. Trust me when I say 10 is safer and far more likely, but even ten will be hard for 75% of you guys.

Yeah - I do some hiking 2-3 times a year and 8-10 miles a day with a full pack is about the maximum for the first 3-4 days and that is with breaks and a nap.

It is some hard shit, not to mention the ACL's they are gonna rip to pieces when their legs are all floppy and burning. I think Ive seen dozens of blown knees on those road marches.

20 miles a day for 2 weeks is not for the meek, especially given the season. You really ought to consider a well coordinated bus trip from all occupy sites that can participate...or maybe a " relay type march, nyc to elizabeth, fresh troops head to next stop, and so on. You might want to consider lightening load by at least busing the gear from location to location

Yeah a re-lay would be a much better idea

You're probably right. I've never been in the military so I don't know what was involved, but how much weight did you have to carry during EIB? What kind of weather? That would have a bearing on how hard it will be on them. I'm not trying to be a smartass, just curious.

I had about 70lbs total and it was July at Camp Greaves Korea, so it was hot as hell. But 20 miles at body weight alone is brutal if you haven't trained for it, trust me walking may seem easy but after the 5-6th mile your muscles will go ape shit. But the next day is the treat, your ass will not be able to move. If you want a laugh go watch them try to move the next morning.

Oh, I agree. About eight years ago (I was in my mid-40's and definitely out of shape) I had to walk about 26 miles, broken up with a couple rests in between. I made it no problem, but was sore as hell for about three days. I was a hot roofer in my late teens until about thirty, so I think if it wasn't for that, I'm not sure I could've made it the whole 26.

I couldn't do 20 right now, no way in hell. I was watching the Walking Dead on AMC and I thought damn I would get eaten pretty quick. lol my cardio is crap now.

I hear that. I'm almost 53 now and definitely can feel it. It sucks getting old. When the zombies hit my front door, I'm just gonna do myself right there on the couch. Fuck trying to run!

I will go until I am out of rounds, but I will eat a shitload of ambien and drive my truck over them. LoL zombies are always bi=partisan subject matter.
