I'm wondering if the OWS movement is racist. Where are all the people of color?

Why are there no blacks in the "secret" committee running OWS?

Check out the number of blacks running Move On.org and Common Cause - all controlled by Soros - you'll find your answer.

I am colored, and here.

What I want to know is; where is all the money we have raised?

We all got the message that the "Evil Credit Card Processor" took our money, but what happened?

The donation overwhelmed the system, that has to be over $10,000.00 an hour. Where is the money?

The Totalsshould be on the front page.

Ask yourself who is really running OWS? Who controls the group? Rumor has it there's a secret group that meets closed door. This is the group that invites speakers. Controls the cash. You're smart. Therefore you're dangerous to them. Keep a low profile.

There's a gun buyback program happening now in Elisabeth, NJ - that might be one reason people of color are missing.

Most of the people at OWS went to college. Many people of color just want a handout from Pres Obama - they don't care if he's controlled by Wall St / Soros - they just want their 500.00 stimulus check.

Free speech is a beautiful thing. The sad part is your hateful premise is only strengthening the movement and only making yourself look uneducated in the movement's diverse populous. Why not head to NYC and "check your facts" first hand?

I think a lot of African Americans get driven away from this movement because of all the Ron Paul rhetoric. I don't want to speak for African Americans or any one else for that matter. How ever, African Americans are well aware of Ron Paul's stance on the Civil Rights act. They don't want anything to do with Ron Paul.

And please i don't want to debate if his stance is right or wrong. If you believe he is right, fine. I believe he is wrong. Let's just leave it there and agree to disagree.

Or maybe its because they've already heard it all before and seen how well your wealth redistribution shit works. Because they're so much better off after trillions and trillions of dollars pumped into the 'war on poverty' that put them into ghettos dependent on handouts.

[-] 1 points by readytogo (80) from Brooklyn, NY 13 years ago

so are you saying that black people as a whole live in ghettos and are dependent on welfare? Are you implying that African Americans are the main recipients of welfare?

[-] 1 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

Not at all sir. Not at all. I never mentioned African Americans, the poster above did. I was merely saying that you aren't getting a lot of minority support (who certainly make up more of the poor per capita than nice little white boys and girls) because the 'war on poverty' only made things worse.

Your initial post claims racism because of the lack of people of color. Your response to tr289's response about why African Americans specifically may be leery contains the language "they" and "your" in reference to his posting. Yes, that is exactly who you are referring to. So can you answer my question? Are you making the claim that African Americans or people of color if you're trying to slink out of that specific attack, are the main benefactors of social welfare?

I misread his post about AA's before I replied. But, lets just examine this ... per capita, aren't they? You asked the question, not me.

Race is meaningless. It's only racism if you exclude someone. There is no exclusion and suggesting there is only furthers the idea that skin color should be important.

[-] 1 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

Race is only meaningless until OWS decides how it is going to divvy up the goodies right? Then the 'right people' in the 'right victim groups' who know the secret handshake will be allowed.

[-] 1 points by VelourTrousers (34) from Potsdam, NY 13 years ago

Yes, that would be racist too.

They're down there in Zuccotti park along with all the other colors. Every time I've been down there I've only seen a diverse crowd working together - a very beautiful thing - people of all races, backgrounds, ages, creeds and cultures. There is even a working group to discuss the issue of how to be more inclusive to people of color. Go see it for yourself! Also check out #occupythehood or #occupydetroit, two occupations started by and composed primarily of people of color

Are you sure you weren't at a Tea party rally?

[-] 0 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

There were lots of people of color at the one TEA party rally I went to. But it was labeled racist and the people of color were labeled 'uncle Toms.' How is this different? Is it because fellow travelers can't be racist?

[-] 1 points by WhyIsTheCouchAlwaysWet (316) from Lexington, KY 13 years ago

captain- The fact that a few misguided people labeled anyone of a particular ethic background like that does not make a point. There are racists in every group of people.

[-] 1 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

So are those guys 'uncle Toms?' Or are we not allowed to use that label because they are fellow travelers?

[-] 1 points by JRChavZ (4) 13 years ago

captain, your comments and obstinate attitude have discredited you against the overwhelming amount of information that SHOWS that OWS is NOT RACIST, but inclusive - all races make up the 99%.

It's not about race. It's not about left or right. It's about the 99% taking our democracy back.

I'm sorry you fail to see that and I'm not sure how your continued posts on this subject do anything but make you look like a troll.

[-] 1 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

If OWS is not racist, then why is it all white rich kids at the park?

[-] 1 points by RussNelson (5) 13 years ago

White is a color.

[-] 0 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

But its not the 'right' color. White people are evil and need to be turned into slaves to give us goodies.

[-] 1 points by devilsadvocate (67) 13 years ago

Apparently they don't care about this non-cause.
