Forum Post: The HEADQUARTERS OF GOLDMAN SACHS is only 19 minute walk from Liberty Plaza. Seems like a beautiful day to pack a picnic, take a walk over there and shine a light on the great vampire squid. Link to great article on Goldman below.

Award winning writer Matt Taibbi famously referred to Goldman Sachs as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money." Learn more at links below. Goldman's fancy headquarters at 200 West Street is only a 19 minute walk from Liberty Plaza. Seems like a great day to visit the ol' vampire squid with a few hundred friends and shine the world's spotlight on its corruption....

Classic.

In 2006, the firm's payroll jumped to $16.5 billion — an average of $622,000 per employee. As a Goldman spokesman explained, "We work very hard here."

I agree. They work hard at effing the whole world.

I've been following Taibbi for a while. He's kinda like my hero!
Would you consider Matt for your VP?!

This would be excellent destination one day in the next 60 days. Let's perhaps get into planning mode on this one.

Agreed.

There should be a permanently manned OWS Forward Operating Base stationed outside GS HQ at all times.

Completely agree. Goldman should experience all sorts of non-violent direct action and protests.

Here is a short BBC video of an interview that will blow you away where broker basically says "Goldman rules the world." Shocking. Even the BBC business news anchor seemed stunned that this broker said this out loud. It gets pretty extraordinary about halfway through: http://youtu.be/lqN3amj6AcE

Goldman is really only one of many many organizations that have engaged in incredible and outrageous corruption. But it really is the king of corruption. Goldman has bought off so many government officials in so many ways that people have begun to refer to the U.S. government as "Government Goldman". The fantastic and award-winning film "Inside Job" (narrated by Matt Damon) is expertly researched and chronicles, among other things, Goldman's role in the financial collapse.
