Is this a proper statement?
How would you add to it/
I wanted to sum up the goal of the movement in as few words as possible, so even the most average American can understand.
It's hard to get newspapers to do stories about a complex subject because they are written for individuals with an 8th grade education, for the most part.
What other goals should we have?
We should recognize that we, the people, let this happen. There are many symptoms with a common cause, but we willingly gave our power to a government that has not represented us for a long time.
I think all of the Occupy groups should unite and make the elimination of greed at the Federal, State, and Corporate level the unifying message. That would be the most helpful to everyone in this country. We the people need to unite under a single banner and with Occupy groups all over the world, we have the prime opportunity to make change that will work.
Maybe that's the goal for some people, but I don't think that's the goal of the movement. My goals would be a genuinely democratic, just, peaceful, ecologically sound and loving society, which, as I see it, goes considerably beyond merely eliminating corruption.
Howsabout, you help the people you claim to stand up for?? I'm sure the single mother of 3 would rather help paying off her note than some jackasses yelling in the street. And the reason the papers don't write about this anymore is because nobody cares
