Much like Al Pacino in Scarface, they are awash in money, perhaps even in cocaine, and greed has replaced all human relationship with a lifeless object that cannot effectively return love for love. So, they must consume more and more to continue the human charade. Their god is mammon. Eventually, they remain alone awash in the detritus of a capitalist existence absent human emotion and care.
It's a dream, I agree. My point exactly. Until people start caring, then the pursuit of happiness will remain a dream.
It's called the American Dream, dumb arse. Are you jelly?
