After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that all my posts in support of the OWS movement have to be removed. Sadly, this movement, as a whole, appears to be moving in an anarchistic direction that I can no longer endorse or support. The recent decision by the OWS to disavow the NGA and the document known as the 99% Declaration may indeed be well-founded. This is an issue that I don't claim to understand. However, it seems indicative of the lack of direction and leadership this movement is experiencing as a whole. Sadly, this lack of endorsement, and seeming lack of trust between these groups, only seems to lend support to my conclusions that the OWS movement, as a whole, is pushing an agenda that is, at best, inscrutable. In short, if the OWS produces an agenda that I can support, I may decide otherwise. However, at this time, I don't think the OWS is being directed toward a realistic, workable set of solutions to the problems that face our country.

I firmly believe that our system can be can reformed using the tools provided in the Constitution. We have a legitimate right to redress our grievances to the government. I'm unsure if I will endorse any group at this, or a later time. Like the vast majority of Americans, I think the system is badly broken. While I tacitly support the agenda known as the 99% Declaration, I am still hoping for a more perfect document to be created. I certainly don't support all of it's initiatives, nor do I endorse any group at this time. But, until a better plan emerges, I will continue to support the 99% Declaration, because it is the best agenda that I've seen to date. It is a document that deserves to be discussed, and improved. It deserves time in the national spotlight. The issues it addresses deserve a national debate. It's the best document I've seen to date, and I hope something that suits my personal tastes, and more particularly those of the vast majority of Americans emerges.

Their time is over. It is our time now. It is our moment. It is OUR movement. We are coming together. We are choosing a new life for ourselves, an entirely new way of thinking and approaching the people and the planet that we share. We will make new rules to govern ourselves, define a new sense of responsibility to our communities-- we will build on the wisdom of our forefathers. We will find a new way to live. Together. In peace. With compassion toward our countrymen, and the planet as a whole. We'll create that new life not just for ourselves, but for our children. We'll communicate these ideas that we're having this very day, this week, this month. We'll use art, music, and literature to pass on our cultural values-- just as our parents did for us.

We'll kiss our children and murmer “God bless you” while they sleep, and we'll know in our hearts that we made that extra effort, we took a chance and decided to make a more perfect world for them. Which, they will surely take for granted until they, too, reach a maturity of thought. In return, they will give back to us more than we can imagine possible. They won't even intend to make our hearts swell, and they'll think we're kinda goofy when we grin with barely suppressed pride. Truth is blowing in the wind, and love as well. I suspect it is this way during all great awakenings. The 99% are beginning to take notice of our new-found mission. This movement is our kiss back to our parents as they rest from their life's labors. This is our chance to show our parents that they did the right thing when they raised us to think for ourselves, to step up and take the whole world upon our shoulders. They might not know it today, but in a few years, when they remember this time? They'll know their lives were not spent in vain when they said “find a calling, do what you love, or you'll never feel rich.”

Of course, we have much work to do. This is a revolution of ideas, it is a sea change in our hearts, but there is much more labor ahead of us. It is a loving mission that we undertake, and we have to keep our eyes open for the fascists, because they're out there growling about the cold, and whining for a late night snack. We will care for them too, and we will keep the monsters warm when we wrap them in a blanket, and put them back in the closet. They are childish things, and they have to go to bed now. They live in fear of ideas, and they are afraid of the dark. They don't play nicely with others, and they aren't very good at sharing. They are afraid of the light, too, for fascists are horrible, ugly things. They cannot bring themselves to rely on love, because their greedy hearts are so easily broken when they can't get exactly what they want. When you do nothing but take, your heart aches, and you blame others for your misery and fears and appetites.

Trust in our fellow men is difficult, it is a huge gamble for some. I came here and I used my real name because I wanted to believe that 99% of the world is filled with good and noble people. I took a chance on this movement, and I put it all out there for the world to accept, or reject, or trample upon. I give up myself freely, because I think this is the miracle we have all been hoping for. I must say clearly: there is nothing to fear in change. But it requires trust in your fellow man, and a great deal of hard work. It is a labor of love for the 99%

I think this is a momentous time that we live in, and I'm proud to make myself a productive part of it. You can too. But, you have to pick up your pen, or your brush, or your drum. You have to put on your coat, and light a candle, and walk out the door. No more war. No more hate. No more suffering the fear that the wilderness is filled with cold and cruel beasts. We are noble savages. We will wear paint on our faces, and we will beat the drums, and the monsters will scurry away, howling into the night. They know only fear, and an unending hunger-- and they will continue to try to put their fears into us. They will demand that we live like they do, think like they do, take from others like they do... Their time is over, and I think a lot of them already know it. The silent majority knows it. The 99% will coalesce, we will debate, and we will compromise. We will find common ground to stand upon, in peace. Our collective chant to reform our country may actually bring a few monsters back out of the closet, and we will dance together in the night, man and beast. One people. One planet. One moon. One beautiful world filled with noble savages who decided that the darkness was a magical place and a singular time, and they knew it was time for a dance and a feast... of stuffing and Roast Beast.

Happy Thanksgiving. We ARE the 99%
