Today, I decided to stand. It's a Monday. I have felt it for years and now I can feel it in my bones. This is the dawn of our age. The age of the Lost, the Zero Generation. We are not zero, we are the 99%. I am the 99%.
Brother and sisters of humanity are standing up around the country and around the globe, filling the streets with their voices and I can no longer stand idle. I am the 99%. This military industrial complex that has become our country will soon meet its demise. No longer can I stand by while the world changes, real CHANGE. I am the 99%.
Since 1913 we have lived under the impression that we are a capitalist nation when all along we have been pawns for a machine that has hid itself well. We want a common dollar, that has equal value to what it is weighed against. Why does gold increase in price when our dollar does not? Is our dollar not based of gold itself?
I can never remember being so fraught with fear, fear of losing the America we thought we had. Now we have a chance to create that country. To make a stand and to be heard. We are the 99%. I am the 99%
.
The media does not want our generation to be heard. When there were marches across this country in the 60's, their voices made the 6 o'clock news. Why are we now debased by the media? In this day and age it is crucial for our voices to be heard. By every man woman and child in this country, neigh; in this world. You have a voice. I have a voice. We are the 99%.
This is no longer up for debate. We want our America back. The one that was spoon fed to us in the 80's and 90's. The lie of what we were, we want that to become our new truth. A truth that we do have security. A truth that we are in the greatest nation in the world. A truth that we actually have freedom. Bring back your freedom! You are the 99%.
I am privileged, for I am an American. I have the internet and a cell phone. I can facebook and I can twitter. I own and use frequently a Playstation 3. I eat McDonald's and shop at Wal-Mart. But that does not mean I am spoiled. Neither are you. These are our mediums now. We don't need the media coverage, we will make our own media. We are the voice and we are the 99%.
From time to time the tree of freedom must feel the blood of patriots, of course this is a total paraphrase of what Jefferson once said. But it is true. Shed your blood brothers and sisters of humanity, shed it before it is shed for the machine that makes up the 1%. I will shed mine, I am the 99%.
Wall Street was just the start. It was our "Shot Heard Around the World" moment. This is our first occupation. Now countless others have sprung up around the country and the world. We must continue on. We must bring the fight to their front doors. We must use our voices. Ideas are bulletproof, I know how eccentric I must sound quoting V from "V for Vendetta", but we have more than an idea now. We have a bulletproof ideal. The ideal that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL! Every last one of us. You are my equal, for we are both the 99%.
How can we say that we still live in the land of the free? What, can you tell me, is free anymore in our nation? I want my freedom I was taught that I had. I want you to have it as well. We deserve this freedom, every single percent of it. We are the 99% and we want our 100%.
Our country voted for change, I voted for change and for those of you who didn't, don't worry, we never got it. The only change we got was that our system got worse. A change for the worse! Our nation is failing us, it is failing me and it is failing you. We are the failed 99%. Yet now we have found our voice, we are the 99%.
I am impassioned to write about this movement because it will long be echoed throughout our future history. This is the moment where we have to choose. I am the 99%. I know what side I am on.
You are the 99% You are the voice!
"Whether the State can loose and bind
In Heaven as well as on Earth:
If it be wiser to kill mankind
Before or after the birth--
These are matters of high concern
Where State-kept schoolmen are;
But Holy State (we have lived to learn)
Endeth in Holy War.
Whether The People be led by The Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote--
These are things we have dealt with once,
(And they will not rise from their grave)
For Holy People, however it runs,
Endeth in wholly Slave.
Whatsoever, for any cause,
Seeketh to take or give
Power above or beyond the Laws,
Suffer it not to live!
Holy State or Holy King--
Or Holy People's Will--
Have no truck with the senseless thing.
Order the guns and kill!
Saying --after--me:--
Once there was The People--Terror gave it birth;
Once there was The People and it made a Hell of Earth
Earth arose and crushed it. Listen, 0 ye slain!
Once there was The People--it shall never be again!"

:) nice
That's great just as long as we don't forget about or make excuses for the obscene, unjust, immoral, and illogical, concentration of wealth. The rich are too rich.
