So many of the financially secure class have tolerated a Congress for hire for so long, the middle class has been badly weakened. The Occupy Wall Street movement, which is far larger than the media indicates, is liable to provide fresh lessons in one man one vote and the power of free assemblage. While it appeared to start as more of a costume street fair, peer movements across the country are forming serious platforms and using a rally venue rather than a sleep-in. Growing weekend rallies in cities across the country will accommodate a broader segment of the silent majority and will be increasingly difficult to ignore.
